Just like Death knight is very clearly a warrior and paladin because it uses melee and wears plate.
    Hey

What you are asking for is basically hunters with shadow aspects.
For one, because every Demon Hunter ability is already part of a different class, that alone requires them to have a new theme and set of skills.

For another, because WoW armor system would require the character to wear chest plates, shoulderpads, helmets and weapons that don't always fit the Illidan look.

Then you have the lack of tattoo customization and the fact that a hero class like that would be available to most races, including gnomes, undead and perhaps even pandaren.

And finally, rogues can already play as half-naked night elves with glaives and an eyefold. The theme is not unique.

Not my character, but I assume they are using the harness because it is a leather transmog set.

I agree'd up until they announced demo revamp. Meta is really the only ability DH needs from their old set. The rest can be made up or created in different form, short cooldown 1-2 second active "dodges" instead of evasion, Mana burn isn't used by anyone anymore. So really with the demo revamp only immolation is a problem.

Why could Demon Hunters not wear cloth? A lot of their powers are from magic, no?

They have the stat changing technology at their disposal, and so on, if that was to be a side taken against it.

Except player dks had a base in a the wc 3 second gen scourge dks. Do demon hunters have anything like that to draw from kit wise if the Illidan style dh is out?

No - because it has a different design concept. Teriz is stating this "Shadowstalker" or whatever is a new class because it wears mail.

I could easily see it being a class if it, for example, embodied the tech concept...which, it largely does in its D3 version (grenades, et al)... but not simply because it wears mail. Teriz described a Hunter - a mail wearing ranged combat specialist.

Please don't ask him to elaborate.

Unless they add new transmog/hide options for gear. I don't think it'd be unreasonable to hide one or both shoulders, maybe Demon Hunter only option to hide chest? DKs had exclusive skin colors so tattoos aren't unreasonable either, especially if we get sub race options finally, tattoos for Dragonmaw Orcs and Wildhammer Dwarves

I would love that. Personally, the best demon hunter mail helm IMO is the shaman lookalike pvp helm from last season (which fortunately is not class restricted

    Definitely mail.
Why mail? They are supposed to be agile and quick, like a rogue. You can't be stealthy with a heavy mail armour on you.

They can just add demon hunter unique mogs, like death knights have.

Yeah... so can anyone tell us why Demon Hunters could not use cloth?

    Well, hunters are very agile.

Because there's only 2 mail classes and 3 leather.

I'm thinking that the new hero class will be Shadowstalker and will look like above. That being said, I'm also thinking they'll redo Demonology for Warlocks and turn it into more of a Demonhunter tanking spec. Either that or fourth spec will be a thing. It just wouldn't make sense to introduce a Demon hunter class with Warlocks having all the things that make a demon hunter...well...a demon hunter. Namely metamorphosis and all that comes with it, immolation; hell just gives us mana burn and we pretty much have the complete kit. Furthermore it'd add another tanking spec to the shallow pool we have currently.

Funny how everyone just chose to overlook what I said on last page. They already have the stat changing technology used for paladins, druids, monks, shamans and so on.

And what makes you think they can't just put agi on Cloth like they do with Mail and Leather?

    And, 3 cloth classes.

Where does the cloth idea come from? Leather makes far more sense and there are leather kilts
