the sorry state of transmog farming

so I just did a boss on BRF mythic and got a single item
I didn't realize this stupid system goes so far
at least in SoO you get the full loot drops

are they ever going to fix this stuff? ever since personal loot was introduced to the game soloing old content is completely broken
the time it takes to get a transmog piece from the previous two expansions compared to say cata 25hc is ridiculous

and then there's some other stuff like the low drop rate of pala lookalike gear from some raids which is outdated since it is now of equal value to players (unlike the various rings and necklaces that drop constantly and are of no use to anyone)

how do you think we could go about bring this to their attention and getting some well-deserved changes to those things that will make this process more even?

Use groupfinder, a friend or a guildie to get an alt grouped with your main.
Convert to raid, swap to group loot from personal. Get 4 loot from each boss.

I believe you can get a friend to log in, join your group, convert to raid, then set the loot system to group loot instead of personal. It's a shoddy workaround, but it should work. Alternatively, you can get a trial account, create a level 1 character on same faction, invite that to group, and do the same thing.

Start a private group with yourself via the group finder, and change the loot type from personal to group loot if you prefer that.

The issue, from there perspective, has nothing to do with the transmog. It has to do with gold.

Having raids beyond cata drop multiple items would increase the gold people get. Since the complexity of the raid is all but gone, they adjust what they can to limit the farming capacity of raids. When Next expack drops, expect that MoP will get the treatment that older legacy tiers did. where gold from bosses and gear is devalued, but equalized.

they get money from my monthly sub, not how long I stay logged in
so long as I enjoy playing the game in any capacity I will find other things to do, becoming frustrated by shit like this doesn't benefit them in any way

but of course they don't realize that, they think choking the playerbase is better (I'm refering to other issues ofc, not old raids which many don't care about anyway)

Go to group finder, make a group with a plausible name that no one will be interested in joining so you avoid people applying meaninglessly (like "Artificer Joraan"), convert to raid, set to group loot.

It's super easy, make a raid group but be alone and reap the benefits? You should know this if you farm a lot of mogs xD

1. Start a legacy raid grp
2. Name it "don't join "
3. Change to grp loot
4. VOILA!

I think this is a bug of sorts. Sometimes it'll happen to me in mythic Siege. They took out the ability to change loot distribution while you are solo, so I thought it auto-converted to "group loot" instead of personal. The ticket I sent in, they told me it was something to do with WTF folders and things like that. I just waited to go back and it fixed itself. I think it has something to do if you've been grouped up recently, but I haven't been able to pinpoint the issue since it's only happened a couple of times to me.

The big way to find out if it's going to bug out like that, is if you kill mobs and not all of them glow with loot and only one does every so often. Head out, try to reset instance and see if that helps.

To be honest, personal loot is a good system for things like LFR and random player groups. And to be honest, it is a working function. You have it there, you can do it and it isn't really a problem to do either. You aren't forced to invite people. You just have to deal with playing in newer content. I know it can be frustrating to put a little more work to find an actual current fix but it was shared with you.

And 'trust me' I know it is. And I use this function because it works.

first of all it is a bandaid because it doesn't address the issue of cosmetic gear distribution
second of all, it's not exactly "existing game systems" because I have to "trick" it by setting up a group, the fact that I can't change the loot system when I zone in the instance is technically "broken"

Trying to get the legion invasion argus weapons... only at 4 out of 12, and they only drop if your class can actively use the weapon type...

And then there's the weapons from the broken isles invasions, even more RNG.

On the other hand, most vanilla dungeons since 7.3 (not all yet), got 100% guaranteed a loot-spec blue(or epic if its on loot table) drop you can learn, so it filters out like 1-5 items out of 7-10+ at times. Even got previously rare epic items pretty quick that way, like Ironfoe/Circle of Flame/Dragon's Call/Runeblade of Rivendare etc.

Dire Maul, Maraudon, Zul Farrak weren't updated to personal loot yet, not sure if it has anything to do with the Silithus wound or whatever, dungeon revamp might be possible, who knows...

We should get what pvp has
when you do dungeons or raids you get tokens you can use at a vendor to get all the weapons, armors, or mounts/pets from a raid for X currency from a vendor outside the raid.

Or

doing a raid gets you tokens from each boss, using those tokens at a vendor you can buy all the mounts/pets armor/weapons
icc invincable costs 200 tokens, the pets cost 10 each
armor costs 3 per, or 60 for all, weapons 6 each or 120 for all.
