Don't think they'll give out Alpha in november, they'll probably go straight to beta and do it a bit later, otherwise it's going to be right at the start of Antorus progression.

Why they would go straight to beta? They had very good pattern in Legion: in alpha they slowly introduced new stuff with more closed audience, in beta they send waves and started test stability in feature complete expansion.

Also, even in alpha would be November, we won't see much beyond some starting areas and few changed specs this year. It doesn't collide with progression at all. Hell, they even did some raid testing on PTR this expac during progression.

Alpha/Beta are naming things... doesn't matter for content available.

If they don't want us to have more than 8 months of expansion, testing has to start the latest after thanksgiving, in a more complete state than Legion Alpha started.

Legion testing was extremely long compared to any previous expansion. We'd get 10 months of Antorus if they have 8.0 Alpha/Beta in equal length to Legion.

Beta is not starting yet, this was likely just for BlizzCon. They often use the wow_beta app for events outside of beta periods.

Nah. Beta will come sometime between March and May, lasting all the way to late August or September for 8.0 release, With Alpha starting between January and March.
