    Comp fix/replace

I have a build from a few years ago, my video card is going and I’m trying to decide to upgrade or new build. I have a i5 3570k professor z77 extreme3 motherboard 650 w power supply, 8 g ddr3 gtx 560ti. I have about 1400$ can’t decide to upgrade to a 1070 or 1080 and new 16g ddr3 and a ssd. My motherboard the direct hookup for internet doesn’t work so I have to use WiFi, so that’s another factor. Any and all opinions would be well appreciated. All I play is wow, I raid semi hard core and want no issues. Thanks.

Processor and mobo are fine. The difference between the 3rd gen and even the 8th gen intel is just not enough to justify a new MoBo and CPU. The GPU will be a much bigger upgrade. Its wow, you don't need anything better than a 1050ti/1060 3gb. Wow is a CPU bound game and unless you can achieve a mythical 10Ghz clock speed on your CPU, you will most likely be under 60 hz in raids.

Something like this should improve your play experience

You don't have to get that monitor, (hopefully someone will give you a better option) but you should get a monitor with adaptive sync (NVIDIA g-sync, AMD Freesync)
That PCI-E card will give you back you Ethernet port. You could also just get a USB 3.0 to Ethernet adapter. If your going to upgrade, might as well get RAM.

He doesn't need extra ram. And why would he throw so much into a 27" 1080p 144hz monitor? Total waste.

That's all he needs for WoW. Could get a beefy cooler to overclock the cpu (if running stock one), WoW gets huge gains from clock speed.

Alternatively, can scrap everything a build a whole new pc.

Thank you for the replies, guess I was wanting to go a little overboard on the video card. I forgot to mention I have a 27in curves 1ms 144hz monitor already. I think I’ll go with the extra ram new 1060 and the ssd. Thanks

if you want a working ethernet port.. grab a pci-e ethernet adaptor! cheaper than a new motherboard, but i'm guessing you have a pci-e x1 slot free.

that said, if your wifi is working fine, there's prob no harm in sticking with it. your call!
