Question The Powerful Women of Warcraft - Hint?

    Hi All,

Just an interesting point looking at blizzcon - 2 hours after the announcement "what's next" we have the most powerful women in WoW. The description's quiet interesting as well "For the Alliance! For the Horde! Join the voice actresses who bring some of the most formidable heroines of Azeroth to life (and undeath) for a discussion of their craft." With the hint' we've had from the following two videos would you agree that Jaina will become the main antagonis? We do also have a new book coming out called "before the storm" - could it be a way for Jaina to attack the horde for Theramore?

    Kind of old news.

They've had Jaina front and center for all their major Blizzcon advertising for a while now.

Although that they say "women" which could be plural is the most interesting bit, especially given that we have the Windrunner sisters now.

You know HotS and Hearthstone has nothing to do with WoW, right? I'd be surprised if Jaina ended up being anything other than one of the protagonists of the next expansion.

If there is one thing World of warcraft lacks its these called "powerful women", Not only has been retconned twice under the span of 10 years, but because of the feminist agenda i am willing to bet she is only going to get more space in the spotlight than ever before. Either as a avatar of a old god, or using her powers to destroy them.

It's definitely a hint at next expansion being female-focused, but we already knew that with Sylvanas/Jaina likely to be the main protagonists.

Everyone knows Jaina is an evil bitch; we're only waiting for Blizzard to realize it..
    Fact (because I say so): TBC > Cata > Legion > ShaLa > MoP > DF > BfA > WoD = WotLK

Probably protagonist. Take place of Khadgar or something.

Redeeming Illidan was a far fetch..

Redeeming Jaina is impossible.. No way, the player base will accept Jaina as a "good guy"..

You're making too many assumptions based on what's most likely to be "behind the scenes of voiceover" panel.

Yes, it is a hint. Or rather declaration: we went fucking nuts.

Dude jaina has nothing to be redeemed for from an alliance point of view stop being so butt hurt. The stuff she threw at the horde was the hordes own fault. She hasnt done anything to harm the alliance or give the alliance any reason to not like her anymore.

She will be the focus of the expansion one way or another. Fingers crossed for raid boss.

    "Women" IS plural.

    Woman is the singular form.

Jaina led an attack on Orgrimmar, ultimately leading to Theramoore's destruction.
Jaina SINGLE HANDED ruined the attempt to have Blood Elves join the Alliance during MoP
Jaina, SINGLE HANDED persecuted innocent Kirin Tor Blood Elves, during MoP
After SoO, Jaina attempted to play the role of Judge and Jury in an internal Horde issue, where Varian had to silence her like an insolent child..
Jaina really fused to let Horde into Dalaran during Legion and when she was voted down, 5-1 (including her own vote) she went AWOL from the Council of Six

All this was done, while claiming to be Neutral.. And you say, she have not harmed the Alliance?
No amount of PR can ever make up for it.

Get your facts right, Jaina was about to attack Orgrimmar only AFTER Theramore as destroyed.

It's hard to say if it's a hint because they also have a diversity meet up or something ummm ... creative... like that this year.

So it could be filler content.

But i think overwatch's 'everyone is welcome' philosophy is going to slowly seep into blizz's other games, and so they're finally going to flesh out some other characters in the spotlight. AKA, jaina's back.

I want to add - the Davy Jones leak was first leak that mentioned it in mid summer before we knew Blizzcon schedule.

Time to close up this chapter of my life entitled WoW.

    Next up:

    World of Diversity: Menslavery
The heroes of Azeroth finally realize that having STRONG WOMEN front and center is actually DIVERSITY OKAY?

Jaina is not going to become an antagonist jesus christ let the meme die.
Your persistence of vision does not come without great sacrifice. Let go of the tangible mass of your mind, it is only an illusion. There is no escape.. For the soul burns on everlasting encapsulated within infinite time. A thousand year journey at the blink of an eye... Humanity is dust..

The Horde attacked and destroyed Theramore first, she almost did something horrible in retaliation, but managed to stop herself.
She was unaware of the negotiations for the Blood Elves to join the Alliance, so she had no idea her actions would mess that up.
It's not persecution, the Sunreavers literally committed treason. She had ordered the Kirin Tor remain neutral, and the Sunreavers helped the Horde anyway. Since iirc she didn't know how many of them were involved, they were a threat. Plus her orders were to just arrest the Sunreavers, the fighting only happened when they attacked instead, and Vereesa was even more aggressive.
Never read War Crimes, so can't speak on that one.
After being betrayed by the Horde at every turn, it seemed a good move- in her place, you wouldn't trust the Horde not to betray you and get everyone killed. And sure enough, the only thing the Horde did in Legion was a big power play by the Forsaken in Stormheim which would have made them a bigger threat to all of Azeroth.

While I did prefer the peaceful Jaina, everything she's done has been justified. Sure, she could become a villain, but that would be Blizzard throwing out her actual characterization to go along with the Horde fans' hatred of her.
