Doing runs they couldn't have otherwise done?

It's minor advantage but it doesn't seem unreasonable to do the following:

Wipe weekly runs before the time of fix as it was quickly fixed, don't remove any end of dungeon reward but wipe them from leaderboard / counting for weekly (or just make it count as a 10). The advantage they gain is bonus AP from the weekly, which is measurable.
Possibly ban those who can clearly be seen to changing comp and doing runs far above their regular normal for 6~ hours (believe that's minimum). The important thing here is it shows actions like this will be punished and it would put people out of standing for the next M+ invitational.

Minor advantage? They beat a world record timer by 6 minutes. But sure, minor advantage

Ofc they can get in trouble for this. Pretending they weren't doing those keys at that time solely because it was abusable is a meme.

They 100% saw the bug, and decided to push keys, using it to their advantage asap before the fix. It'd just be naive to think otherwise.

They could have gone and boosted up other keys of theirs in the meantime, not breaking the record, but they wanted to. They did a key they could not do without the bug.

While YES, it's Blizzards fault the bug happened, Blizzard are still in their rights to place a suspension. That's just how the rules work, and how they have acted in the past.

These guys did their run, and couldn't avoid the pet bug, but they could have avoided intentionally trying to push the record (on a key they could not do in time without the bug, or even close to) they ONLY pushed it, because it was a bug they could abuse in order to achieve something they should not.

It removes the prestige of the leaderboard if you let cheated results count. Ingame they have the advantage of getting 5 new 23 keys next week increasing the chance of getting a nice 23 key to push for score.

Everyone is already ignoring it, as that's a community problem that has been solved.

I think they meant minor advantage as in, what you get from the ingame rewards.

They'll get extra AP from the weekly chest, and they were able to farm some AP faster than others. Blizzard isn't offering any rewards for world records nor for raider.io scores, as those are community driven. It's up to the creators of those sites to ignore runs during the exploit window, Blizzard is also unlikely to wipe the board for the week, since it already resets each week.

Best Blizzard will likely do is lower the AP bonus to a +15 or something more reasonable, or perhaps wipe it from their sheet for the week entirely. Or they might not care, the extra AP isn't that much in the scheme of things.

as long as blizz wipes today's runs from the leaderboard idgaf if they actually get punished. I'm just going to be less than stoked if i have to look at these damn runs at the top for a while.
