It's because that's the only one you don't place yourself (or as a raid, I guess) because it's a giant ass ring that they have to teleport in.

What is the canon version for the status of the old gods? More precisely cthun and yogg. Did we kill them? Or we just killed a part of them because it´s to hard to kill an old god without inflicting to much damage to Azeroth?

They seem to be based on australian sheperd dogs , they were never implemented.

For C'thun I would assume just part, since the hives are present even in revamped Tanaris.

And stuff seems to be happening in Ulduar during the prepatch that the keepers are trying to hide.

Cthun is still alive, he was giving orders to eyeball cho'gal in Cata.

Yoggy nobody knows. Y'shaarj is dead for good.

I think ambiguous enough they can do whatever they want. Outside of Y’shaarj.

  8. #31528
The only one I consider dead for good is Y'shaarj. Others are definitely "not completely" dead imo.

Y'Shaarj is the only one that is definitely dead, deceased, gone to meet its maker.
C'thun and Yogg'saron we "defeated", and they are sort of...inactive currently, but they are not precisely dead in the correct sense of the word. I guess in terms of the game they are inert for now until we potentially need them for story again, at which point they could suddenly be revived with outside help (or Azeroth bleeding literal life energy ahem).

N'zoth is alive and kicking, and has been supposedly imprisoned since the days of the Fall of the Black Empire, although his influence can be felt throughout Azeroth.

If you look very closely you can see they have a cowboy hat on their head.

Aussie here - that's got little crocodile teeth on it, like Mick Dundee's, and the dog is an Australian breed. I think this was supposed to be like an Aussie bushranger, not a cowboy. Could one of the South Sea islands be Australia-like? The architect on Broken Shore also used Aussie slang. I'm sure it will be full of jokes about how everything can kill you and that we're all criminals, Yanks love that shit (the irony!)

Oh here we go again. That's a question that the board can't agree on even though we had our last old god fight in WotLK and even Y'Shaarj's story was two expansions ago.

We can 100% confirm that Y'shaarj is super dead. But even he can come back if you find a large enough chunk of him and splash old god blood on it. And that's as far as I'm willing to go.

Don't old gods somewhat live on in their minions since they are spawned from their flesh? Yogg Saron's blood aka saronite still exists in Northrend so it might start tickling Bolvar at some point. I like how the old gods are basically zerg overminds.

Yes, I meant Argus appearing made us forget about the pillars and we left them in the tomb, not that we used them to make Argus appear
