For a priest to become a paladin they have to take a vow before they are accepted and I don't think Anduin has done that.. And well as far as I know there is no set iron clad rule regarding what a specific major NPC can wear..

Turalyon and Uther, both priests, took no vow and were chosen as the first paladins.

No, a priest who wears armor and weapons and actually knows how to use them is a Paladin. Anduin kinda fails at that last part, so he's just a priest in plate armor.

Yes lets send the King of the Alliance to war in cloth. He isn't a priest. Anduin is a Hero Priest. He seems to use abilities that some ingame priests have but he wears armor and uses a sword if he has to, also has abilities that PC Priests don't have

Sure, but vow aside, he's a paladin. It just makes you wonder why they are designing the character like that. I mean then why did they make him a priest to begin with if they give him the look and feel of a paladin? The whole point was that Anduin just wasn't that skilled at swinging a weapon, so he became a priest cause he could cast spells there. Then they put him in armor and give him a sword and place him on the frontlines. It's like they want him to be a paladin, but they don't wanna go back on their decision to make him a priest either. So now he's officially a priest, while essentially being a paladin. Ok...

While he has some basic training, he is not skilled, he constantly bash the shield with his sword while eventually calling in the light to do the work(Paladins on the other hand ARE skilled in combat, right after he sees his soldiers in pain and dying, he realizes, he is not Varian, he is not a warrior, he is a priest, thats why he drops the sword and calls upon the light to heal his army.

The Sword?Is common in stories for the son/daughter take up the weapons or itens of their fathers, mentors or people close to the person in question.

The armor, protection?A asthetic way to inspire his army, strike fear in the enemy?Yeah, this things happen, not only supported by the fact that Cloth, Leather, Mail and Plate are game mechanics that don't apply to the characters in lore.Priests in game are restricted to Maces, staffs and wands, but nothing in lore states that he can't shoot a arrow(which is show in the comics that Anduin was trained in that)

You can look at various sets and shoulders, they will with 99% certain not be Cloth but they are in game because of mechanics.

an example would be the Stormwind set, despite looking like Plate, all classes can use it.

Also, no, Priests don't need to wear a dress, with the right pieces of armor you can look like a armored Priest, just, get good with transmog.

Im ashamed to even have a human character with an immature little mediocre like Anduin running things. He has yet to say anything interesting and he isnt a warrior so what use is he?. If he cant be wise beyond his years and/or he cant be tough as nails then he doesnt deserve to be king. Current Blizzard seems to double down over and over on stupid things and Anduin is no exception, get him killed and let Genn take over. At least with Genn running things we have a true warrior and somebody that can represent 2 races at one time.

That's a nonsensical answer. At the very least they could wear leather or mail. So wearing cloth never makes any sense. So why are characters wearing cloth?
