I think I read that article, but it sounds loopy.

But who even knows anymore, I'm not willing to make predictions about how these pieces of shit will behave lol.

Mmmm, hard to say. They've been pretty unanimous in denying the Republicans any Democrat votes that could help them so far. I guess it depends how their leadership wants to play it.

Don't forget that Strange was Trump's candidate and Moore was Bannon's, the loss of the nomination was a direct blow to Trump that apparently had him bitching for weeks in the White House. So not only is it an opportunity to continue to drive a wedge between the mainstream and Bannon factions, but it can be used to deny Trump something he wants.

I suppose we'll see, but you know kiddie fiddling is the kind of thing that sticks in the mind.

The other thing to bear in mind is that with the RNC pulling support and funding that reduces his ability to get the voter base mobilised, many of them may simply lead to many Republican or Republican leaning voters not showing up at all. That's why funding is so crucial.

Update: another poll came out today, this time the poll was taken by Fox News. Doug Jones has an 8 point lead.

I mean its Alabama until there is 100% reporting I wont believe a Democrat will win this race. If Jones does win this race then hell will officially freeze over.

As of 7:33PM Eastern in the US, it's 32 in Hell.

While I want Moore to crash n' burn... the bigger question to ask is, will this "momentum" last for another month - since it's nearly exactly 4 weeks away.

Well, since the thread started, several additional women have come forwards. And it's not like Jones is going to leave that perfectly wrapped gift alone, either. Every interview, every debate -- does Moore even debate? -- every ad is going to have this.

And deservedly so. Alabamans need to be reminded every day, every hour, that they are voting for a person who was not only thrown out of a job for violating the Constitution -- somehow, that wasn't enough to stop him -- but who also raped a child. They need to be forced to swallow that. Don't like admitting it? Too bad. You'll be forced to admit it to yourself.

But why would they play along? That would let the Republicans replace Moore with another Republican who will merrily vote their agenda but be less embarrassing.
So, not very likely to happen, and the Republicans know it.
Because the headlines would write themselves against dems as much as the GOP. "The democrats wanted a pedophile in congress so much they voted for a republican."

There is zero chance dems would not vote to expel this guy.

That has a good chance to backfire though. People tire of that kind of stuff easily. You have seen it with Trump. It doesn't take too much for some people to go "Yeah, yeah, I GET IT" and just vote for the R to at least get their interests represented.

If the democrats come out in large numbers for this election like they have for the past special elections, they might pull in a win. But the undecided voter percentage is too high for comfort, so it's really just a toss up at this point.

I'm guess Doug jones is pretty moderate and reasonable, this is probably a blessing for republicans and be people of Alabama.

I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up being another Joe Manchin. Basically a Republican but on important votes will follow the party line but everything else is fair game.

I can't see him voting for gun control

He won't like Joe Manchin. When I refer to important votes I am talking about stuff like the Obamacare Repeal and the upcoming Tax Bill. Generally the Democratic leadship lets Manchin vote with Republicans unless it looks like it will be a 2 vote swing and its a critical vote based on the Democratic platform. Generally gun bills don't get that close.

If I lived in Alabama I would vote for jones, Moore is too fucking crazy.

That Jones still holds an 8 point lead is a good sign. Not as much as the original 12, but this one has a bit of staying power. I still believe that Moore will pull it out in the end. But we'll see.
