I hit 70 with MNK yesterday, now to start catching up my final job, NIN. SAM is 66, it'll be the next one to cap once NIN gets there. NIN is also the one I'll be doing the bulk of those sidequests I left behind with. It's the one thing I kinda miss, honestly, being able to level largely via those.

Noes...I wanna enjoy this comfy chair knowing that it'll be another year and a half before I have to level jobs again.

Won't even BS about it; it helps TONS having friends who are leveling tank/healer jobs when you're running through the gamut of dps jobs (and vice versa). I got most all of the tanks and healers done not long after BLM because friends were leveling dps jobs at that point. Over this past week, I finished off DRG while a buddy works on WAR. That's one reason I have all of the jobs leveled as of now. Could I have gotten them done faster? Definitely; I could've just grinded out tanks and healers through SB leveling dungeon spam. I had several anima weapons I wanted to make, too, so I did most of the leveling for SCH and AST through Frontline spam...two birds, one stone, that sort of thing. I've mostly stuck to just doing roulettes on whatever job I was leveling; alliance raid roulette and Kojin daily quests being added in 4.1 probably netted me almost half the xp for all of the jobs I had left to level when that patch hit.

Meanwhile, here I am, having completely forgot those things exist; didn't help that I recall checking some of the first ones that show up in Fringes and they were worth maybe half the xp that a FATE gives there. I still have a bunch of ARR sidequests I skipped, too, so that might be a long term thing I do between now and next xpac (that is, clear out all the sidequests in the world). That fishing one will be the absolute last one I pick up, though.

You do know you don't need to click the actual button right? You can literally just mash any key/button you want and get credit.

I could've taken this somewhere to give the appearance of being in a building/house, but I'm amused more by the zero fucks given approach of plopping a nice cushy chair down out in the wilderness.

On the topic of that chair, I kinda feel bad for my friend, who made the chair for me as well as one for himself. His character (male Roe) looks...uh, constipated, to put it nicely, when on this mount.

Its crafted. 2s Alchemy, specialist craft. It needs cloudsbreath which is from air ship ventures but can be crossbred iirc. It is also tradeable, so you can find it on the marketboard. Likely going to be expensive.

It's an ALC craft, I believe. So you can either craft it yourself, get somebody else to craft it or just buy it off the market board directly. It's called 'Flying Chair' and is currently going for a million gil on my server. The price is likely different elsewhere.

Crafted; requires an ALC specialist (hence why I had my friend make it for me). 2 star level 70 craft, but since it can't be an HQ item, it's not terribly difficult to make...although had I not reminded my friend that Piece by Piece is a thing, he might've flubbed it, lol.

The Cloudsbreath is the expensive part of it; I bought the 8 of them I needed for the chair for 1 million gil. Chair itself sells for 1.8 mil and up on Zalera. Would've tried to grow them myself, but I've got all the gardens available to me working on Blood Peppers (and eventually Royal Ferns).

Speaking of gardening, does anyone know of any good guides for it? I've heard that crossbreeding is supposedly a thing but the game doesn't really explain it.

Man, that OF thread was PURE fucking gold.

It's worth the whole read. Lots of people who have 0 clue in there. http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...dps-harrasment

My favorite are the people who say fflogs doesn't do x y or z, when if you literally take one step past the main page it shows you everything and more they said doesn't exist. Or the ones who say there's no context in logs (hint: logs are nothing BUT context).

I think that OP there is partially blowing smoke up folk's ass because I've never seen someone booted from a hunt party because of their dps. Only time I've seen or done that was if they went afk and didn't respond when asked if they were back or whatever.

Same applies to dungeons, honestly; the only time I've ever seen another player give someone shit in a random DF group was maybe 8 months ago, when my friend and I ran an expert roulette and we had a DRG who just started raging at my friend (also a DRG) about dps and "go read the guide" became a running joke between us, because I think that's about the full extent of that guy's vocabulary. Considering my friend was 200-300 dps behind while in ilvl 250ish gear at the time (he had just started playing again after several months away for school) against an ilvl 270 DRG...we just laughed it off.

I won't go beyond that, though, since I've still gotta clear Shin EX myself. I've got all of maybe a dozen attempts on it, with a fair portion of them being ruined due to DDoS last weekend, weeee.

Outside of kicking people who logged out of the game and clearly aren't coming back, I have rarely ever seen people get kicked.

I can think of only 2 in recent memory. One was one of the healers in Rabanastre who made it abundantly clear after being dead weight from the beginning all the way through Hashmal where they died 7-8 times that they were just not interested in putting in any effort, and the other one was a WHM in Skalla who was just being a jerk. I shrugged off their insults to my tanking (but I have no idea where he thinks I was losing aggro to his SO who was a NIN doing ~1000 DPS on AOE - personally I think they were just standing in shit), but he starting flinging insults at the other DPS that I brought after we wiped to the final boss because he insisted the center of the room proximity AoE was just a stack mechanic. So naturally he died ~20 seconds into the fight and threw a fit.

I think the only time before that was some time in the middle of Heavensward. Really, as long as you can halfway do your job outside of the harder content and keep either silent or have a good demeanor, you aren't going to get kicked. And I've seen RDMs in Main Scenario use ONLY Scatter - literally, for the entire dungeon - and as long as they weren't dying to other shit, w/e. I mean it's all giant pulls anyways and the bosses melt fast enough with only a few people trying.

    edit:

Now I do remember seeing the thread on the official forums, and I think they since closed off their FFlogs, but this was the PLD who was doing 9th percentile on Shinryu. While I sincerely doubt that they were kicked from Hunts, I can completely understand a group expecting better performance in Shinryu. They must have been only beating people who were dead large segments of the fight.

FFXIV's official forums are a wild ride at times. I've seen people permanently banned for posts that really didn't deserve to be treated so harshly...and a lot of people posting there have a strong allergy to the approach of agreeing to disagree. I've even had to report someone for hurling death threats my way in-game because they accused me of hijacking the lore forum to create a cult praising Garlemald.

I got kicked recently because I rezzed a healer from another group (both healers of that group were down, so in my book they had the highest priority) on the second boss in Rabanastre while our own second healer was down. Incoming damage was fairly minimal, so I didn't notice it straight away because I was too focused on other things.

Naturally people started calling me an idiot immediately, when I told them that they have to wait for another swiftcast b/c there was 0 chance of getting a 10s cast through they apparently started raging.

For the record: If people were to stand correctly and grouped up, I could easily solo heal that boss.

Do what? I’d love to see a screenshot of that if you have it (the death threat). Just as a daily reminder that people are stupid. Names not needed; I don’t have the time nor ever care to witch hunt.
