The AH and such will be a different place anyway.

Some people might pick a new weapon because they're running around with one that is ~15 Levels below their current level.

Next to that, crafting materials will be worth a ton because people have to level their profession to max and pretty much everyone wants crafted stuff even at 60.

In a world where AoE spells and AoE looting aren't a thing, farming even linen cloth as level 60 in RFC might take a bit.

Also, getting the "right" world random drop might make you a "rich" person, getting a Krol Blade and then selling it might allow you to buy another epic beneficial to your class.

Selling certain items required for quests will also be a thing (Deadly blunderbuss on Horde for example), all those gems required for crafting, etc.

There will be a lot of people seeking to control the market, since Gold is extremely valueable to anyone in Vanilla, but there are tons of markets to control.

    Your argument is kinda strange.

First off all, 2.0 is not truly part of Vanilla, for all intents and purposes, BC started the day 2.0 hit live servers, the only thing missing was the option to go to Outland and gain XP beyond level 60.

Aside from that, pre patches are notorious for being imbalanced, choosing that one for Vanilla servers would cause even more chaos in an already imbalanced game.

However, the Weapon Damage normalization was done midway through Vanilla, there was other Vanilla content implemented into the game after this change.

Its like the people who keep making these stupid topics think they're the only ones who remember what classic was like.

Gold was harder to make back then. No shit, Sherlock. In other news, rain makes stuff wet.
Appreciate your time with friends and family while they're here. Don't wait until they're gone to tell them what they mean to you.

Let me repeat it because you seem to not get it :

There might be opinions about talents and how soon a raid should be release and its tuning, but nobody gives a fuck about which patch the keyring was included as long as it was during Vanilla.

People saying "we should start at this patch or this one" are debating about these points : talents, gear and raids. Nearly nobody gives a fuck about the details, as long as said details happening during Vanilla.
As for the "But it was in vanilla" argument, well, BC patch happened during Vanilla, so do we have the talent trees for that as well, or allow the cheaper Artisan mounts? There are many variables, and people cannot make up their minds, and it isn;t stirring the shit, but an indecisive demograph not knowing *quite* what they want.
Starting to speak about pre-TBC patch as Vanilla is just playing dumb on purpose.

Seems you just want very hard to convince yourself that pro-Vanilla people have some huge inside conflict and you selectively filter in anything that goes this way and filter out anything that show it's BS.

You realize that it's been weeks we've seen anti-Vanilla people queue up to claim that pro-Vanilla said this or this, or fought about that or that, while completely ignoring the actual facts (typical example : "see, we told you so, they said they wanted Vanilla without change but as soon as Blizzard provides legacy servers they ask for change", while all people asking for changes gets downvoted to oblivion, and polls about change are something like 75 % against them, and most of the people asking for changes are not Vanilla supporters).
It gets tiring pretty fast and it certainly doesn't help to be patient.

Yes, we've established that classic wow is different from retail wow.

This is just a logical extension of that position.

That's not necessarily a bad thing it just is. Additionally, it's the lost nuances we never noticed that completely destroys perception. You didn't realize how frustrating or bad something was until it was changed.

The mail stack topic is a good example. If game mail never existed in another game then there was no comparison to the lack of stacks because even having mail was a world of difference.

On point, this is like the subject of classes. No one knew the missing potential of Paladins because Blizzard hadn't fixed their design. People also didn't know how little room they were going to have in variety within their own class when the game started.

The evolution of many subjects and systems is what made Wow better. Some evolutions did have externalities, but the flaws in Vanilla are known now. The likelyhood of such a deep regression is highly unlikely if it comes with a monetary cost. Additionally any true success would ultimately be through a violation of the purists desire.

    So... hilarious.
Thank you for pointing this out as it is a very important point.

We wouldn't have known that LFG/LFR/xrealms would've killed the community had it not been implemented. We would've still screamed for it thinking that this would make vanilla better than ever.

Or that flying mounts would've killed world pvp, we just wanted vanilla to get better.

Or that everyone should be able to see all the content and get purples so we cater to them not really having time to play this game and make very easy versions of raids.

In retrospect, one of the very few changes I think made the game better without destroying anything was the option to choose a heroicmode for a boss on a per boss encounter in a raid (ulduar). It was fun once our guild had the bosses down on normal and make attempts on the heroic versions, it made for a great replay value. For this purpose I would say only green itemrewards from quests and 5man instances, only blue itemrewards from raids and epics+chance for legendaries only for raidbosses downed in heroicmode.
