Help with choice of PSU and GFX Card

So for my build basically I am following the Unicorn version of MMOC build of the month section. (http://www.mmo-champion.com/build-of-the-month/)

I am making a couple of changes though and I had some questions.

    1. If I go for a 1080 instead of a 1070 as well as a 8600K CPU and a Z370 motherboard do I need a different PSU? Do I need one with a higher wattage?
    2. Is https://www.amazon.co.uk/MSI-GTX-108...+1080+ARMOR+8G a good choice for a 1080? If not why not?

    Thank you!

    PSU is fine.
I own that GTX 1080 and its ok, its not noisey and temps are ok, running most games at ultra on 3440x1440p and it hits 60-65°.

I would not recommend the EVGA GQ 650W PSU. I've had 2 of them, they were both crap. Both of them had massive coil whine issues and 1 of them died randomly a couple months after I got it.

The MSI Armor cooler is really bad, both thermally and with regards to noise. Avoid it unless you plan to mod the card with some custom cooling.

EDIT: I'd also recommend a GTX 1070TI over a GTX 1080. 1070TI is very close in performance, especially when comparing overclocked 1070TI vs overclocked 1080 (the difference is only a few %), and it's like ~50-100€ cheaper.

The Armor cooler is fine if you dont buy the 1080 TI version with that cooler.

Seconded; i had the GTX 1080 Armor OC, and it was fine. I just set the fans to about 65%, which was still barely audible, and it kept it quite cool. It is now in my wifes rig and is still fine.

It cant handle the extra heat the 1080 Ti puts out though.

Go with the 1070TI, most bang for your buck.

Best advice in thread if you are willing to manually OC your GPU. nvidia does not allow them to be factory OCed since that would cut in to 1080 sales. You can simply OC it yourself though.
