Canada wasn't even a country in 1812, so why anyone would use that war as a metric for dick measuring is silly.
Populists (and "national socialists") look at the supposedly secret deals that run the world "behind the scenes". Child's play. Except that childishness is sinister in adults.

He's not the first Canuckian to use the war of 1812 as a Canadian military milestone. I'm sure he won't be the last either.

So basically nothing. Wanna end NAFTA? Go for it bud. We're gonna be fine.
This no doubt will strengthen Canada's negotiating position.
How would it strengthen our negociating position? Trump wants to end NAFTA, Trudeau wants to keep it. Seems to me like this article strengthens Trump's position instead. I can hear Trump say "See? NAFTA is not benefitting you much either. We should agree to put an end to it." The only benefit is that Canada does not have to accept the unacceptable from the american negociators. That's all.

The US is not going to invade Canada. To think so, is not even remotely being realistic. But if they wanted to, they could easily take it over within a couple weeks. The difference between the two's military potential is hugely in favor of the US. But we are allies with them and NATO, so we have a pledge which unlike some countries, we will honor it.

If NAFTA is not benefiting Canada that much, yet the US is on the losing end of the trade deal, then the US needs to end it or get a better deal. Canadians should understand that.

The US isn't on a losing side of a trade deal...

Because the US spent several years rebuilding Washington including the burned-out White House.

Canada runs their oil pipeline through the usa, what else does Canada make?. You need our ports and protection for anything. Canada will bend to our will, believe that.

Does it mean that Trump is right?
All right, gentleperchildren, let's review. The year is 2024 - that's two-zero-two-four, as in the 21st Century's perfect vision - and I am sorry to say the world has become a pussy-whipped, Brady Bunch version of itself, run by a bunch of still-masked clots ridden infertile senile sissies who want the Last Ukrainian to die so they can get on with the War on China, with some middle-eastern genocide on the side

No, they aren't. Canada pulled all of their troops out of the middle east. They are far to coddled by us, we wont put up with that forever.

These studies are bull. There is no way to calculate the effect of such event. There really isn't. Just like there is no way to calculate Brexit.
"This is no swaggering askari, no Idi Amin Dada, heavyweight boxing champion of the King's African Rifles, nor some wide shouldered, medal-strewn Nigerian general. This is an altogether more dangerous dictator - an intellectual, a spitefull African Robespierre who has outlasted them all." - The Fear: Robert Mugabe and the martyrdom of Zimbabwe, Peter Godwin.
