Here's the thing, people wouldn't be in such an uproar of Net Neutrality being repealed if certain ISPs had an effective monopoly over certain areas.

Unless you live in the cities or suburbs, you really only have access to one or two of the following: xFinity (aka fucking Comcast), Hughes Net, or using your cell phone provider.

If there were more ISPs, people could move away from the asshole companies, but we can't.

Surely if this does happen, groups like Anonymous will take action in some shape or form

I wonder if the Trumpets even knew that this is one of those things that bites them in the ass when handing over all power to a government that are fuckbuddies with all the major corporations. To bad net neutrality is "too complex" for your average Joe to understand or take any interest in, and it will probably pass. I hope this insanity won't spread across the borders of the US, though. America...what are you doing to yourself?

What on earth are you talking about? Without regulations, the traffic is open for whatever the ISPs want to do with it. Regulations prohibit that. I think you've got this backwards, mate.

We've had net neutrality before because no ISP was bold enough to try and subvert that, until they started doing just that and then the net neutrality laws came about.

Sorry to burst your bubble but this has absolutely nothing to do with Trump or the republicans... people wanting to remove net neutrality has been going on for the past two decades in various guises... and it won't stop until it's billed to be something protected.

If the current government wasn't a bunch of corporate puppets, this repeal wouldn't have been on the table, or at least had no chance.

I fail to understand how this net neutrality repeal is going to benefit the general public. It's not like the ISP are going to accelerate the speed on some site, they just going to slow down some sites and domains that didn't pay a "premium".

I understand how this create business opportunity for ISPs, but it does not benefit the general public. Shouldn't the lawmakers, elected representative of the general public actually cater to their constituents.

Men forced into labor camps by the greedy ISP women raped by the evil ISP children... oh god not the children .. dont make me remember what the ISP's did to the children before June 12 2015 when Net Neutrality SAVED US ALL......

Wait you say there was absolutely no difference before net neutrality and after it ?... so confused

Don't you think that most of the problems in the US come form the complete ignorance of the outside world ? The majority of the problems that they are trying to solve have been solved elsewhere for decades.

I can get a gigabit internet with no restrictions for €50 ($60), bundled with like 300 TV channels and a phone with unlimited calls, text and data, with the equipment and installation also free, and like 35% off on a new S8/iPhone because of that contract...

Except we didn't. We needed the NN laws codified and put into effect specifically because the ISPs weren't being neutral. They saw how much traffic Netflix was getting and throttled them. Then they turned around and demanded Netflix pay them to have the throttling removed. It's like a guy putting up a roadblock and demanding tolls on a public road. You pay your taxes to maintain the road/you pay your internet bill, so you should have access to the road/service. No NN means it's totally legal for them to do this.

    No it won't affect us.
You were saying that ISPs had no responsibility to any 3rd parties. I was pointing out without the laws they exploit those third parties ruthlessly.
The most difficult thing to do is accept that there is nothing wrong with things you don't like and accept that people can like things you don't.

Yep, keep fighting. Congress can still stop this. ( yes yes, I know. They never do, but, desperate times call for desperate measures)

It's not going to benefit the public, and I don't even think that the FCC are claiming that either. They say it's just going to remove some pesky regulations that that fucking Obama guy put there, you know, because regulations is what destroys America. Yes, and that the internet WILL work after the repeal.
    Don't worry, be happy!
