Sylvanas' Machiavellian villain archetype is in part the large reason for her popularity. I don't see why this is surprising.

Well, Anduin didn't say anything about an Alliance's "selfless leadership", just that the Alliance took heavy losses. Sylvanas' "selfless leadership" claim were just lip service at least, or propaganda if we look at it negatively, as the main leaders of the war against the Legion after the failed battle at Broken Shore were Velen (Alliance), Khadgar (Neutral) and Illidan (Neutral, joined after Nightwell).

Yeah, because those 3 Horde members, that would have been left standing would totally be able to kill the Fel Reaver that was about to be dropped.

The Horde lost many fighters trying to preotect the Alliance's flank.

The Horde couldn't stand much longer fighting a battle on two fronts and reatreted to save the few soldiers, that were left. You can't really fault them for that.

That bolded part is what gets me too. I'm Horde and even I could tell she was parading around during Legion for her own ends. The whole Stormheim storyline, making us do all the important work for the Horde while she went off and did her own thing behind the scenes. While we were struggling to get our own souls back in Helheim, she was busy being selfish and making deals, leaving us behind in Helheim.

She's starting to become a bit delusional in thinking her leadership has been selfless and is it just me or does it annoy anyone else when Nathanos is such a smartass to the player? Like, literally makes me want to bury my weapon into his skull.

TBF, it's Alliance's intelligence service fuck up that caused it all.

There's no one else to blame, Alliance is the reason why both Horde and Alliance suffered a defeat during initial assault on the Broken Shore.
