Why though? Addons were and still is a huge part of WoW for many people.
Setting up your UI the way you like it and with all the different addons available sets WoW apart from all other MMOs out there.

Turning this core part of the game off would be a huge mistake.

I could probably live with the stock UI from current retail version of WoW if they made the elements movable. But having the original vanilla UI would make the game pretty much unplayable for healers.

I mean, that's the same level of discussion.

Ikr, do none of you know that add-ons were a thing back then anyways? What a dumb thread. Of course there will be add-ons.

But I'm biased because I really didn't understand add ons so much until BC. I had a few but I feel like I don't remember which ones they were even.
Yeah, I just love to count the seconds in my head for my multiple dot's.
They will allow them, no doubt.

Why would they decide that when there were addons in Vanilla?
And I saw, and behold, a pale horse: and he that sat upon him, his name was Death; and Hades followed with him. And there was given unto them authority over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with famine, and with death, and by the wild beasts of the earth.

This is the wrong question. There will be addons. The question should be how will Blizzard monitor and ban the ones that go too far.

It wouldn't be Vanilla if there were no addons.

I never used addons in vanilla so I dont plan on using them this time either.

Lucifron sure would be a whole lot more "interesting" for mages
Just preface all my posts with "Well, I didn't read the thread, but..."

That might be good. With decursive it just involved spamming your hot key every few seconds.

This. Which is pretty much the end of the discussion. If the point of Classic is to recreate a true Vanilla experience as so many claim to want, then there will be addons, because there were addons in Vanillla.
You can't ask for true Vanilla, no QoL changes and such, and at the same time advocate the removal of an integral part of what we played back at the time like addons. Most QoL did nothing but implement in the core game stuff that Vanilla players used addons for.

Rofl, you think good players don't use DBM and BigWigs? Of course they do, as a general reminder of timers more than anything but they do. Seems like you don't know how progression raiding works. DBM is developed before the raid even releases on live (thanks to datamining and testing), and is already fully functional by the time actual progression begins.

And the OP is a silly idea. Addons were very much present in vanilla, and were even more powerful than those we have now. T'is not a pure vanilla experience without threat meters and Decursive.

Addons were an important part of vanilla, so yes, it's a silly thread. But yes, they will limit addons compared to what was possible in vanilla (no botting with addons for example).

But without addon? Surely not, because unit frames didn't exist in vanilla, and try to heal without unit frames: yes, awesome for the 1201042 rogues on the vanilla-server, but then try to find a healer for... anything!

i'd still play the game, would take a little bit of time to adjust to the stock hotbars again
