Liberals Love Trump's Tax Plan... When Told It's Bernie Sanders' Plan

This truly exposes the conditioning those students went through.

Not quite. Did they mention the tax cuts for the rich? Didn't seem like well executed logic

  4. #4
Of the three things he brings up, only one is actually bad (the reduction of the Estate Tax, or as he disingenuously puts it the 'Death Tax'), and he completely fails to mention all of the tax cuts for the rich. So basically the only way this works is by lying to college kids and selecting the responses that makes them look stupid.

Fake news, man. Get this shit out of here.

Yes, yes, and Ray Comfort demolishes the evils of evolution every time he sticks a camera and microphone in a bunch of college kid's faces.

Difference is people trust in that anything Sanders comes up with doesn't go and benefit the very rich and actually helps the entire country

You think people hate this because of trump, that alone is a huge assumption because you lot like to project. People hate the tax plan because it's horse-shit just like everything else the Trump admin can come up with.

This is trying to manipulate you. The questions asked in the video, is not why the bill is bad. Those are good things, but they are not all that is in the bill.

If all the tax bill did, was what’s stated in the video questions, it wouldn’t necessarily be a bad bill.

Edit: fixed alphabet soup, to be more condensed and to the point.

    You didn’t watch the video.

He asked if Bernie’s tax plan increased the child tax credit, got rid of misrepresented version of estate tax and lowered taxes on the middle class. Why would they say it’s bad? The Trump bill without all of the corporate hand outs, would be a Bernie bill. It would get the same reaction from just about everyone. This video should explain why Trump’s bill is shit, instead of trying to misrepresent reality.

I will repeat again... they are not saying anything wrong. Trump’s bill, without corporate hand outs, would be supported by liberals. Just like listing Trump’s tax cuts, without the corporate hand outs and pretending the estate tax impacts anyone making under 5.5 million, would be supported by liberals... not fucking shit...

@Soulslaver do you honestly think that the reply from any of these people would be the same, if each of those included a corporate tax cut? The fact that these cuts are limited? Do you think the kid responding that she is a social worker, would have the same reaction to a limited time increase in child tax credit, but losing the funding that made her a social worker?

What do you have to gain in spreading misinformation about it? Why is being honest such a problem for this tax cut?

    Let's see:

Oversimplifying / misrepresenting what little they talk about? Check.
Leaving out most of the parts that Democrats actually criticized about (except the estate tax, which falls under misrepresentation/slanting)? Check.
Not talking about how it is financed/effect on the deficit? Check.

You are right. This video thoroughly exposes the conditioning that the reporter dude went through, if he truly believes that this is the extent, scope and effect of the tax plan.

Regardless of the topic, you can find people to make idiots of themselves on camera. Even when it isn't part of politics. The bit is really old even on late night talk shows where they just get people to look stupid.

But as others have said, this video in particular is very manipulative. The only thing it will accomplish is giving Trump supporters something to laugh about and everyone else something to roll their eyes about.

I think it explains more about you.
    So misrepresenting the plan?

Do they mention about how the entire tax plan is trickle down economics? That in the history of trickle down it actually never worked? Do they talk about how the growth assumption is so ridiculous that not even the biggest sham economist actually believes this plan will pay for itself?

I'm not going to listen to propaganda, sure they either sound convincing or they make the other side look stupid by misrepresenting the subject.

At least the Daily Show doesn't have to lie, the idiot right-wingers are proud to spout their bullshit on tv.

    Title should be changed to:

Gullibl Trumpanzees love to watch liberals flip out when they're told that approximately 20% of Trump's tax bill (which was actually penned by congress with no input from Trump) is equivalent to Bernie's tax plan.

Funny how that works eh, when you don't even know what Bernie's tax plan was, and you don't even know what's in Trump's tax plan, you believe stuff like this.

The less you know, the more you believe.
2014 Gamergate: "If you want games without hyper sexualized female characters and representation, then learn to code!"
2023: "What's with all these massively successful games with ugly (realistic) women? How could this have happened?!"

It’s a lot worse than that. The video is presenting exactly what most people want. The issue with Trump tax bill, is not the parts that do benefit the middle class. The problem is many of those expire and the corporate hand out, is far greater than any support of middle class... including middle America...

Who is the real fool, when trying to justify a man who spent his campaign bitching about wallstreet? Did this handout seem like a good idea, when Trump was stumping Wallstreet Ted and Shillary to Wallstreet?

Yeah, it ask them if they support the child tax credit, the estate tax cut (that effects her, not those over 5.5 million) and a tax cut on middle class. No shit those are good things... now go ask Trump from 2016, how important it is to give a massive hand out to wallstreet.

If Trump supporters know, that even liberals support tax cuts on the middle class... what the fuck is all the other shit in Trump’s tax cut? Why the obfuscation, unless they know it’s shit. Just cut taxes on middle class, college students and middle America would agree. I know... shocking...

No, they are not in favor the disastrous republican tax scam.

They were asked about child tax credit, obvious support.

They were asked about the estate tax, he didn't seem to hide it was the estate tax (aside from calling it the death tax) when he explained it. I don't know how many people he had to ask before finding someone to support this. Which is the part they don't show you.

Then he mentioned small business. It is a lie to say it is just a tax cut for small businesses.

So no. Liberals do not like Trumps tax scam. Are you going to tell me you a fan of late night hosts like Jimmy Kimmel who trick people into saying stupid shit?

I somehow doubt they explain all the crap in the 1100 page bill within the timeframe of the video. The devil is in the details.

People are stupid. More news at 11.

Seriously, though, most people don't really think well on-the-spot. If you're not informed, you're far more willing to accept what is told to you. This is true of any political leaning.

The Daily Show going out asking people about Obama and 9/11 and Jimmy Kimmel (I think) going out and asking people if Women's Suffrage should be stopped are prime examples of this sort of thing.

So, has OP just shat this out on the forum and bailed? Would like to hear some defense on this indefensible video.

Yes! Keep in mind, too, that they will edit these videos to show only the side of people they want. For instance, I have no doubt plenty of people set them straight (people aren't really this stupid most of the time) but they're not going to show most of them in the video, any more than they do for those stupid anti-conservative ones.
