Reddit in general needs to become less of an echo-chamber. Don't think that those subreddits were the only cases of people becoming more radicalized in hate.

It's a problem with pretty much every political subreddit there is, on both sides. You can clearly see stated in the rules that they don't want anyone to actually debate whatever it is (communism, libertarian, socialism, etc.) they all want a safe space so they can circle jerk there like minded opinions and harden their stances.

I agree, I hear this kind of sentiment a lot outside of reddit too. It's good for reading more on a subject you're already invested in, but not much more.

Random question, how open were these sub-reddits to discussion and different opinions? I know places like the_donald bans anyone that sounds mildly "liberal" these days.

Not at all, the upvote button stops it from happening and mods have nothing stopping them from banning people they dislike and feels more or less expected on many subreddits if not explicitly stated.

That is essentially me. Literally everything he says in all of those videos is 100% correct, but you guys see him as a thoughtless, heartless asshole, or at best, "a retard."

If it makes you feel better, lets say i am so stupid that i have to ask many, many questions before i understand things. After a while on certain topics i don't need any more data because I built a network of information that allows me to run certain arbitrary scenarios and spit out a result that has 80% more accuracy than a blind guess. The network can be refined to reduce the chance for error to as low as 5%. (This is why i unironically always assume that i misunderstand the other person and give them a chance to clarify).

I usually don't tell this to people because i have found that the average person can't parse English and as a result they attempt to reduce an irreducible opinion. This is expressed as them seeing my words as, "Stupid." or "Dumb" regardless of the validity of it. I got tired of the ridicule so i kept it with myself but i've been doing cognitive behavior therapy for over a year now and it is helping me come out of my shell.

As a few different Political commentators/comedians have pointed out. The issue with Progressives is they tend to make their Victim Complex their very identity. So things that used to be able to be discussed as non-political matters, these people have now taken it as who they are and feel personally attacked or like their rights have been violated.

For example, the topic of unhealthiness of being Overweight or Fat was discussed very easily and at great lengths for a long period of time. Now that you have obese people actually identifying as a "Fatperson" and not a "Person who is Fat" and living it like a Lifestyle, any discussion of Fat now has this weird side crowd that screams insufferably about how it's offensive or some such garbage.

Minority crowds do the same thing. People have actually reverted to segregation again. People on the left feel the need to tell everyone what Race they are instead of just being People. When I think of myself I think "I'm a Man" I don't think "I'm a White Male-identifying Heterosexual". People keep fragmenting people into smaller and smaller groups.

It's actually sickening.

If a person makes a non-political issue part of their very Identity, it becomes a Political issue since they start asking for intervention for said issues on a basis of it being "Hate speech".
