Villeneuve never disappointed me before, and he did not start here. It's good to see Hollywood still has a place for directors with a vision like his, albeit the film's poor box office performance kind of reminds us why studios take the safe route and just do superhero movies.
What plot problems. Other than having to go off world to be tortured which was more plot convinience than a problem, I think it was sound.

My pick would have to be the apartment scene. You know which one. The baseline tests also had me thrashing in all directions.

the only problem i had was one flashback near the end, kinda just spelling shit out to you, when you prrtty much figured it out. To me that one part felt like somone came in during editing and said, hey what if they didnt understand yet? Then they where like ok lets shoot another scene. Its pretty much the only nit pick i had.

Yeah, the exposition shit is kinda annoying. I love when movies refrain from it and it's one of the reasons I also love Mad Max movies. The visuals alone tell so much of the story that one can be overwhelmed on single watch.

Mindless film are totally fine. But if that's the ONLY form on cinema you like, you're stupid. Being stupid is fine too, society needs a lot of them.

What about the ocean crashing into the walls is so enthralling to you? And the orange and blue? I just don't get the amount of praise that this movie is getting for incredibly basic visual effects.

Legitimately one of the best films of the decade, could definitely fit in a top 10. I haven't been this floored since maybe The Great Beauty as far as movies are concerned.
One of the best films of the decade ??? LOL come on man. It was mediocre at best. The visuals were nothing that hasn't already been done and not a single scene "blew me away" or had me "entranced" like so many people are saying in this thread. I also haven't been this bored by a movie in a long time. Loved the original. "Liked" the sequel.

    4/10

it builds atmosphere, the film has a very dream like quality. If you think its basic visual effects you are misguided.

And I'm going to guess you felt this movie was too slow. When I thought its pacing gives the scenes time and setting to breath and ryan gosling was performing a compelling arc. Not all films need to finish in 90mins

Luv being able to just waltz into the fortified LAPD building and murder someone with impunity not once, but twice, with the second time being a high ranking officer. The Replicant resistance ring being mostly irrelevant besides saving K. Luv not killing K when she had him at her mercy and knew exactly how dangerous he was.

Don't get me wrong, none of these really drag down the movie in any sort of significant manner, but I was still a bit annoyed at them.

Never saw the original and I found this movie alittle boring. I found myself fast-forwarding a few minutes ahead a few times. I liked the ocean crashing into the wall. I'm not one of those people that need Michael Bay action constantly to be entertained; I like drama and character development stories but about halfway thru the movie I found myself getting bored and fast-forwarding to get the movie over with. It was just OK for me.

I love the boring card, really filters out the plebs.

Definitely a worthy sequel, if we can call it that. I'm pretty sure it will develop a cult following just like the original some time after release.
