So it's pretty much always been known to be staged. I have it from a pretty reliable source that played with someone who was actually in that guild, though much much later, that it was based on something that actually happened. This person hated "Leeroy" (which wasn't the actual character's name, I think) and hated how popular it became. It was meant as a recruitment ad, that's why they played everything up for comedy. The message was supposed to be to stop playing with guys like Leeroy and raid with us.

Leroy Jenkins was absolutely hilarious back during Classic WoW, but I had no idea people thought (this whole time) it was something that wasn't staged, that in itself is the twist here!

Great new Leroy video though, always nice to see the original cast back for some more antics. I laughed out loud when Leroy ran back into the main hall.

I've probably watched this video 100 times and knew it was fake from the start, but I have never seen it as racist. Could the group have used racist jokes when making the video, sure.. Do me and my friends say racist thing and jokes on discord, yupe. That however does not make a racist. Not everyone is so thin skinned as the internet would like us to be.

It was racist and not funny. It got a pass nothing more nothing less to it. Disney has its history so does Blizzard.

I thought everyone knew it was staged since like 2008 or earlier, of course it's still funny. I was under the impression everyone knew it was fake, they didn't exactly keep it quiet.. If they wanted you to think it was real they surely would not have posted the outtakes for you to enjoy.
