Lightbulb Communism will win / Elon musk

While it is well established that communism is inevitable, how and when is still up to debate because of some minor historical setbacks (despite most of them not being actual communism) like the fall of the Soviet Union.

In this thread let's make educated guesses about the coming of the great evening when we will seize the means of productions and eliminate the bourgeois class system.

And my guess is Elon Musk will bring communism when he puts the last nail in the coffin of global capitalism by creating fully automated driverless trucks /taxis and causes 30% of the total workforce to become unemployed. I'm not saying he will do it on purpose but eventually that will be the spark that ignites the revolution as no population except maybe the us will stand massive wealth inequality for that long with no perspective of improvement since the ruling class now own all the robots.

wrong. Communism is a failed ideology, our current iteration of late stage capitalism is showing signs of its failures but what is needed is a new way of organising, that isn't communism or capitalism.

Why do you think its inevitable?

Communism is the perfect system for a perfect world with perfect people, therefor it will never work.

considering communism inevitable in a world that just begs 'the people' to not vote for the far right (again)...

unemployed people generally tend to blame 'the foreigners' not vote for communism

And how has that worked out so far?

Also Musk is just a rapacious capitalist who puts on a nice palatable facade to curry favour in the so-called centre-left corporate press.

    How naive.

People are motivated by selfish desires, not the greater good. That is the most basic, irrefutable fact on why communism will never work.

Now that's how you clickbait a subject line, ladies and gentlemen.

Look at the OP cheering on more political violence and bloodshed. You gotta love when authoritarians call for more blood.

Oh, we're supposed to predict when that day will happen?

Well, we saw it happen in the Soviet Union... millions died. We saw it happen in Venezuela... people are starving. We saw it happen in China, millions died... and they are still not free.

Based on that premise, capitalism shouldn't work either. The idea is to promote a greater good effort as also being good for the individual. It's why people are generally accepting of footing the bill for things like sports arenas, excessive military spending, and off the charts level of income for the top several percent.

Communism was the system used by hunter-gatherers before the development of agriculture and it worked for 188,000 years. It's the most successful economic and social system in human history, at least based on its longevity.

The better question is whether the principles of communism - statelessness, absence of hierarchy, class systems and wage systems - are applicable to an advanced technological society where people can accumulate capital in the form of property.

Community-owned automation looks like the best option for implementing it, though whether it will be genuine communism is up to debate.

    Since when is communism inevitable?

Is the OP calling the murder of millions of Soviets a "little setback?" Or is he saying that the ending of those murders was the setback?

The most proising solution weve tested sofar is UBI (Unconiditonal Based Income) wich has nothing to do with communism. The means of producton will still be privetly owned and trade will be as free as ever.

You do realize that we know this, right? We just continue to push him until he gets himself banned for another week or so. Then it will be blissful once again.
