Whats so special about Baby Driver? I watched it, they way they used music was cool, but beyond that I felt it was pretty standard.

I really liked the story, it had strong themes and an actual mystery that perfectly fit with the pulpy, film noir-esque style that cyberpunk is supposed to have. Visually and stylistically the movie was also mind-blowing. I just love cyberpunk, and if you are aiming to make a cyberpunk movie in the Blade Runner universe, you can't do much better than what Dennis Villeneuve did here.

The movie had a "coolness" to it, partly because of the way music was used, but the characters as well. I liked the humor, I liked the action scenes, the movie has good rewatchability because of Edgar Wright's tendency to make small touches in his movies you only really notice and appreciate on repeat viewings. The writing was good, and it subverted some expectations in some very elegant ways.

There is nothing special about baby driver, unless you like hearing characters explain why baby uses an ipod

What I call the big four: Logan, Dunkirk, Last Jedi, Blade Runner 2049.

I can't pick one above others because all 4 impressed me in different ways.

Just when I thought superhero movies can't really get much better than Logan, they decide to release a Logan Noir version that makes the movie even better.
And I don't think anyone can expect that a sequel would be able to keep the charm and atmosphere of the original movie, despite being released 30+ years in the future, and then we get Blade Runner 2049...

I hope 2018 brings us new masterpieces. I really want to see something crazy from the Venom movie.

"the writing was good" apart from the giving handbag back to old lady get out of jail free card, the blind caretaker to make the bankrobber more sympathetic and hot waitress that waits all night for new guy she just met because hes so hot

Chalk this up to opinions and tastes I guess. I felt it was a competent movie, with a fun use of music, every thing else was pretty standard. I had fun watching it, it was just another car chase bank robber movie to me.

People would rate Star Wars up there as the best even though the terrible plot and story? Seriously the man who risked his life to convert his father to the light side but is going to murder his nephew in his sleep? Admiral Purple hair not giving any information to her crew to boost moral causing a mutiny? The super sithish villain merced by his whiny emo vader clone yet has so much power in the force he can create galactic skype calls?

Subjective. I disagree with the conclusions you apparently draw from those parts of the story. I think The Last Jedi is the best and smartest Star Wars movie to date.

It may seem a weird choice but I really loved the Captain Underpants movie. That was a slice straight out of my childhood.

Coolest was probably John Wick 2. Definitely not the best, but 1 guy taking out legions of people is pretty cool.

It's not even just that 1 guy takes out legions of people, it's how smooth and precise he looks doing it. I mean, he's not spraying and praying(he even has to reload frequently), it's like there's a dude, there's a bullet to the chest, then one to the head, then next dude, double tap to the head, next dude, shot to his leg which is partly sticking out of cover, then as he falls to the ground, shot to the head, etc.

Not to mention the transition between weapons(oops my shotgun is empty, quickdraw the pistol and double tap 2 dudes, then reload the shotgun and swap back to using it), and adding hand to hand to the mix...

Not to mention the mini-boss tier assassins he has to take out every now and then.

Either The Darkest Hour or Dunkirk.
