that was 100% to be expected to happen. Having that extra crit on mutilate is gonna be awesome for faster CP = easier uptime management = smoother gameplay.

    I'm just glad I didn't replace my 960 and 970 MA relics.

I mean, you’d literally have been an idiot for doing so, anyone who did that is just inept and braindead.

Yeah they did say a while back when the build gained popularity they were gonna fix it somehow. Also was sorta coupled with exploiting the dp snapshot bug. Ao the clock was quite obviously ticking on that whole thing.
Replacing relics felt a bit rash.

I like those changes. I find them quite clever and well balanced.

see blizzard is always taking away from the rogue every time they update. im tired of this

you for real ? they fixed something that was borderline exploitative. it was a bug. It was never intended to be like this. They took away something and added something else to compensate.

The Fok build itself was not a bug, it was an unintended consequence of their shitty design decisions. Decisions that make rogue scaling one of the worst currently in the game. Its not our fault that this faulty design caused current stat levels to make some obscure character build become a top performer (not by much, at that).

There are plenty of ways the dev team could have rogues scale better, mainly revolving around making haste worthwhile for rogues and feral. Yet they refuse (or are somehow unable) to let bleeds gain anything from haste, white dmg be anything but throw away numbers, increase energy regen to haste ratio, or reduce global under 1 sec.

With it being the end of the xpac, and the world first, second, ...tenth race over, I was thinking there was a 50% chance they just let FoK go till the pre patch of the next xpac.

I was worried at first as Blizz has the reputation to make some questionable changes; however this time round its pretty good and also pushes both bleed and poison up closer together, so anyone wishing to play bleed could very well go bleed and do just fine, though we will have to see for sure in the next couple weeks or so.

That mutilate is a simple buff for me, I couldn't get used to FOK(and I didn't change my relics), but I was still doing decent DPS.
I changed all 3 of mine but had plenty of relics to replace them with for when the changes were to come in. Not perfect but the ones I replaced previously were heavily aimed at the bleed build which I no longer wish to play so it's not even a big deal.

So what kind of relics are we going to be shooting for tomorrow? As it stands I got two relics with MA on them and im reluctant to drop them for BB or DP on account I reeally like Vendetta to be on a short a cooldown as possible. Also.. now that FoK will no longer be viable as a CP builder will it be worth it to drop Vigor for DeepStrat?

Hope this highlights the problems with rogue scaling to the developers. Ever since they nerfed agility its just been fighting against the tide.

Havent seen anything to give me hope in battle for az, so unless they put some work into rogue its unlikely i'll bother with the next expac. Not just their scaling either but the design of the spec, assassin could quite easily head in a positive direction with poison/bleed type builds. But outlaw and sub need another look. Symbols is still unexciting and top performing talents are "clunky"

The ironic thing is that Sub actually had better scaling BEFORE the major rework it got in 7.2.5. For all the hype the spec was getting leading to that, it really hasn't lived up to it. I saw the spec's scaling issues about a month after ToS release and once I saw that t21 set bonus, I knew things weren't going to be good for sub. And I agree about symbols, I think they should bring back find weakness but I don't think they will.

It's a shame it took a broken spin on a spec and a bug for blizz to open it's eyes on assassin, but overall I think they handled the situation well rather than just giving a weak and boring aura buff or just flat out nerfing the spec. Maybe Celestalon leaving the WoW was good for assassin rogues lol.

Yeah it was about as good as a change as you could expect in a hotfix/minor patch. They didnt go overboard nerfing and buffed up other spells instead which was nice.

you might be on to something there with celestalon gone the changes went further than just another aura buff

The spec did not get nerfed, it will get buffed come reset. He was just explaining that he had two backup relics to change so he can get more of a benefit from the buff. The poison knife trait will get nerfed as will the FoK playstyle but the spec will deal more damage than what the Fan of knives build is doing now.

did anyone try using, spec larger FoK and apply wound leeching during alterac valley? works nice at pushing back the whole raid.

by the way, if there is any EU rogue in here, the buffs were successfully applied to NA on 9th of jan, but were not applied to the EU servers as the servers never did restart. It will be applied at the next possible server restart. Too bad we had to find out through the german website that isn't tracked by the mmo-c blue trackers... https://eu.battle.net/forums/de/wow/...page=3#post-41

The way this forum shows dates, for me, is “year-month-day”

    This thread title is “month-day-year”.

At first, I was wondering how we could know what changes were coming June 1st 2018…

Thread title is day-month-year, the sensible format used by most of the world.
