Don't get this the wrong way, but that's exactly why it shouldn't be legal (if you don't believe in killing people), because even if you think its wrong, we (the people) are prone to let our emotions guide us. If we think death penalty is wrong, then the circumstances shouldn't change that. That's the reason why i hope we never have a vote on death penalty here... (though, gladly no national politician would start this, as we would get kicked out of the EU)

In my case, it's more that as much as I'd like to have some people shot, and as much as that might actually be the best way to deal with certain people, I can't trust any government with the power to make that determination.

In my case, it's more that as much as I'd like to have some people shot, and as much as that might actually be the best way to deal with certain people, I can't trust any government with the power to make that determination.

Fully agree with you that i wont trust anyone to decide over life and death of other people. That's why i'm glad to live a political system where death penalty is outright banned and cannot be re-instated.

To be fully honest - reading such story i could already get behind capital punishment, and that's exactly the reason it should never be given out. If i can be swayed by my emotions to question a fundamental belief, i don't want to see what emotion does to people who don't start with my conviction.
