but this isnt cutting edge military stuff... sure some of the systems are new to germany but nothing near what USA does on a daily basis and nowhere near as complicated as a new age multi task jet.

Nope. EAA Windicator. A very fine shooting firearm. Strong, smooth action, accurate. Can be bought here for around 270 - 300 dollars. A similair Smith & Wesson would cost 450 - 700. And I like Smith & Wesson firearms. Have a revolver made by them which is .38 cal. special.

The article is spot on. They do not have a strategic vision for their army because they simply do not need it as of now. If I was a German, I wouldn't worry for engineering. Germany's actual problem is utter lack of military experience on their staff.

Berling is unable to build an airport while in the same timespan 60 (!) are opened in China. Too much bureaucracy and too little meritocracy whereever the goverment is in control.

It's a bit ironic to blame Germany for a lack of military experience. Do we really want to arm Germany again?

During WW2 Germany outshone the USA when it came to military engineering. Not sure we want to go back to those days.

You do realize the fundamental problem with a lot of Germany's machines during the war? Yes they were high quality, power house machines, but they were also expensive, difficult to build and weren't 'pick it up and click' when it came to operation.

Sometimes winning a war isn't quality, it's quantity, simplicity and strategy.

While the StG 44 was a fantastic weapon is was too little way too late, and their "super tanks" were only the best on paper. In practice they were largely failures.

Least people getting turned into mashed potato by escalators or getting torn in half by an elevator are rare occurences in Germany. There's something to say for having standards and regulations.
