lol no, most of them exploited to get it in wrath, and no one that got it legitimately did it alone, they just got all the benefits for other people's work.

Definitely this, not only was our server in the news back then for having the gates held hostage (Imperial Order on Detheroc server), but they announced a day to open it so other guilds had a chance to not only also collect the mount if they were finished to do so, but also so everyone could watch the event. IO decided to do it 3 days early and while we still crashed the server a few times, a lot of people missed out. I luckily had the day off on both days ;D. I would imagine this sucked for whoever may have been ready to also participate to get their mount? End Guys, TKT, etc. can't recall.

I say let Scarab Lords keep their mount, introduce a new mount with that model and color and give it some badass armor and make it obtainable...somehow. I would imagine there's probably going to be a raid or dungeon instance in Silithus added at some point in BFA so just make it a rare drop there or obtainable through some kind of achievement or whatever.

0.2% is very generous.

Theres about 60 servers per region i'm guessing, so theres probably not more than say...300 people with it? Many of wich were abuses from the server transfer service.
It's more like 0.0000001%.

It was a ridiculously expensive use of development time and it makes no sense to further reward those people, especially the exploiters. They already have their classic mount, it was insanity to give them a new one.

I was actually thinking the opposite.

Since the originals had armor, I think they should've made a new black armored version for Scarab Lords and let players earn unarmored versions.

That also corresponds with the whole idea of Gladiator mounts usually being armored versions of normally obtainable mounts. Like the Netherdrakes, Twilight Drakes, Cloud Serpents and in Legion Stormdrakes.

The point isn't that you aren't allowed to be special. I have the DK challenge mode set that is no longer obtainable. If the class order hall sets (which were less cool recolors of the old challenge mode sets) were exclusively locked behind having obtained the CM set in MoP then I would be protesting that as well.

Assuming WoW lasts another 10 years: I don't want them to come out with a super new cool weapon model for anybody who received the mage tower appearances in Legion (which will no longer be obtainable for tmog after the expansion ends). If they make a new model then I would want it to be obtainable in the current content.

They can make it hard or rare. The new black war tank thing could have been a sort of fishing tournament style reward where, during the special event from the 21st-23rd, the first X amount of people to complete some difficult/tedious/long task/quest chain gets a new title and new mount. That would be pretty hard to obtain, and it would only happen once a year instead of how the fishing tournament is run. I'm not sure why so many people don't agree with that.

No. It's a brand new mount. They keep the old one still. It has a completely different mount name. The old one was called "Black Qiraji Battle Tank."
This new one is called "Black Qiraji War Tank." Different spells. If they updated the model then it would have the exact same name.

They get both. This is not removing the old one for the new one.

"this is a new mount, earn it" bwahahah sure, just like the Argus mount and all of those pretty store mounts are earned through blood sweat and tears, and are not at all handed out for free.

For someone who cares so much about the prestige of OG Scarab Lords (literally so much your entire existence seems to center around it), and also condemns the wrath Scarab Lords, you sure do have a twisted view of what's actually earned and what's handed out for free.

I don't see your point. He's saying that he wants the brand new mount to be connected with SOMETHING that is achievable now. It could be something like, "Pay 5 million gold and then kill 5 billion Qiraji in Silithus during this exact 10 hour time period that only happens this one day at this exact 10 hour period, and the mount is only awarded to the very first person per region who does it" and he would be fine with it. It doesn't have to be a joke to obtain. It doesn't have to be something that everybody can just get, but it SHOULD be achievable somehow in this patch at least for one person who didn't play before the middle of wrath.

JFC salty people in this thread. THEY DIDN'T ADD A NEW REWARD FOR SCARAB LORDS. They updated the old models because they are used in new Silithus content. The intention was never to reward Scarab Lords again, it was just a happy coincidence.

This would be like if they offered optional updated skins for Benediction, Anathema, or Rhok'delar. That would be a very cool thing to do for veteran players and it would go against the entire ethos of a reward like that to make it obtainable by people who weren't playing at the time..

Except... they did do that for Rhok'delar. One of the hunter mage tower appearances is an updated HD version of Rhok'delar. There's also a hidden appearance for the Corrupted Ashbringer being HD. Neither of those things were locked behind needing those old items before they were removed.

Those who have already farmed the Scepter of Azj Aqir, or any archaeology specialist, is there a point to save up Tolvir fragments and not do the solves in order to get the mount faster? Or doing it the normal way is just the same?

No, you can only ever have a certain amount of fragments anyways and you'll never know when your next solve is going to be a rare until it pops up. Although you might wanna buy a lot of keystones if you can find them on the auction house.

My main problem is the attitude , every time something gets implemented that is not given out to everybody a horde of entitled people flood the forums and start whining about getting it and how it so unfair.

Nobody is saying that they want the mount 100% guaranteed. People are saying that it's baffling Blizzard would make a brand new mount and then give it to players who did an event that is not possible to complete as of the middle of Wrath without giving current players the potential chance to also earn the new one only.

If OP was whining because the new mount was given only to 1 person per server during some new event then your post makes sense. He's not complaining like that, he's saying that he thinks it's stupid that nobody can earn this mount now. If even one person was able to obtain this mount, OP would not be complaining. That's the point. I wouldn't be complaining either. It's just the fact that this mount is completely unobtainable by any means (rare/hard/tedious/limited) that we're complaining about. It could be as rare as they wanted to make it as long as it was obtainable somehow at some point in the future.
