Depends on your budget, there are 'tiers'. How much do you want to spend?

Completely comes down to what you want from it, are you overclocking? Do you need a bunch of m.2 slots? PCIe slots, will you run Crossfire/SLI? There's many variables.

Not hard OC, just the one that comes from the software of the motherboard.

    Also not SLI.

Extreme 4 seems to be one of the better upper 'mid tier' boards based on components and features, good reviews.
Any 3000mhz/CL15 or 3200mhz/CL16 kit should be the sweet spot, you usually get them based on the day's 'best best price'.

If you're looking for the best Quality / Price Ratio then the Z370-A ASUS PRIME is probably the best choice for oyu honestly, it's really cheap and provides you with whatever you may need, there's a few other higher end options out there but they're a bit more expensive, recommend you to check this article: ( https://innoreviews.com/best-motherb...2018-answered/ ) as it'll provide you with some more insight on this subject.

Extreme4 is most likely the best for the money, coupled with 3000/3200 MHz ram.
    8700K (5GHz) - Z370 M5 - Mugen 5 - 16GB Tridentz 3200MHz - GTX 1070Ti Strix - NZXT S340E - Dell 24' 1440p (165Hz)

No, Just no. The Asus z370 line is one of the worst they have done so far. They have used very bad VRM's this time..

The best z370 mobo's are from Asrock and Gigabyte this time.

I can fully recommend the ASRock Z370 Taichi. Has everything you could need.

Best performing Z370 is the Asrock Taichi, and Asus ROG Gaming-E. Sweet spot on memory speed is ddr4 3200.

Among the best in that price class*

There is a problem with the gaming 7 where the VRM heatsinks for some reason haven't been tightened properly and it overheats and shuts down.
Simply grab a screw driver and tighten them down, if they weren't fully tightened you'll notice immediately when trying to screw it down.

Also the Z370 Gaming 7 uses a little bit of a cheat like the Sabertooth models do at the top of the VRM underneath the I/O cover, which is fine .. but they can be whiny little fans.
