Don't be so quick to hit esc at every cut scene or click complete before reading anything in quest dialogs. Or to say it differently with a Pandaren quote, "Slow down".

It was a portal, genius. A gigantic gateway. You just can't see the edges because it's a very thin doorframe, and multiple cinematics prove this.

The portal closed. Defeat the Final Boss of Antorus, watch the ending cinematic, and you will see it. It's all in-game.

As far as I can tell, Argus just dropped out of the sky. There is no explaining why Argus is no longer in the sky, because there's no reference on the limitations of the Keystone.

Am I honestly the only person in this thread that noticed this?

Where in the cinematic did the portal close? All we see is Illidan and Velen do a monologue, titans do a thing, Sargeras getting pulled back and a wide pan shot view of the sword.

Absolutely nothing with Argus, the keystone or anything involving why it is no longer in the sky.

    You people are fucking clueless.
There is absolutely no basis for individual rights to firearms or self defense under any contextual interpretation of the second amendment of the United States Constitution. It defines clearly a militia of which is regulated of the people and arms, for the expressed purpose of protection of the free state. Unwillingness to take in even the most basic and whole context of these laws is exactly the road to anarchy.

At 2:30 in the video, you see the orange edge of the portal shutting.

You start at 2:13 and it's clearly Sargeras, not the portal or Argus.

What says it isn't both? Besides 2:13 shows a small blue dot not a big red thing closing. You disproved yourself, congrats.

    "Clearly"

Sure dude. Argus vanished from the sky without explanation. Go submit a ticket.

Uhh... To those that says there's no portal...

Firstly, in cinematic when Sargerite Keystone was activated by Illidan that opened up gateway between Argus' space and Azeroth's space. The reason we do not see the outline actively while Argus was in our skybox, I have to assume it is due to technical issues of not being able to show the edges of "giant" portal gateway but it is there. It's not like a planet suddenly travelled billions km to Azeroth in instant. That'd kill every lifeform on Argus... And planets (other than Titans) can't move as well.

Secondly, when you defeat Argus, and Titans use Argus' remnants to pull Sargeras back before he does something naughty to Azeroth. Right when he beams into SoP and Illidan says "At last" about 1 second after, you'll see EDGES of the portal of Sagerite Keystone closing visibly before leaving simple shiny gem floating in space (no idea why they left it there)

So yes Argus didn't go anywhere, we just closed the door, that's all.

Its not our fault you don't want to acknowledge what happened. The Cinematic after beating KJ shows Illidan using the Sargerite Keystone to open a portal that links Argus to Azeroth. As probably one of the greatest mages of all time, empowered by demonic power, and having a keystone that Sargeras himself used to move his troops across worlds, if anyone could do this, it would be Illidan(and he's done it before this point too). If you don't want to acknowledge this fact then you're delusional. Argus was not moved right next to Azeroth, bottom line. Argus is missing because when you defeat Argus(the raid boss) Illidan stays behind and they pull Sargeras back to the Seat of the Pantheon(the red star that replaced Argus) while we rush back through the closing portal to get back to Azeroth. Technically our mission is done, lore wise, we aren't returning to Argus every day to do world quests to work against the Legion anymore. The Vindicaar is also back on Azeroth now, though not currently shown.

You have to kill Argus on that character. The cinematic plays, your character sees the portal close, Argus is gone from your skybox.

The question is, why does it linger still?

Could the pantheon's portal have been so energetic that it left a hole where other things could pass through?

Perhaps a Chrono Trigger type of deal? In CT, there was a malevolent alien that appears as a red star in the sky for a period of time before it crashes down on the planet and proceeds to suck its life energies dry.

Doesn't that sound an awful lot like an Old God, who are known to travel in such a manner? Sargeras is gone and so is the threat he posed to the Void Lords. Hell, the giant sword could be acting like a beacon with all that Azerite spilling out everywhere.

Nah but seriously, yeah. There was a gateway between Azeroth and Argus that made it seem like they were closer, and it got closed immediately after The Burning Throne. I'm sure that, by now, OP has figured that out by now (Either by being barrated by everyone on the forum about it, or they actually got around to watching the cinematics.) So not much else to really add here. Just wanted to share this here.
Isn't it fitting WoW really took a nosedive after 'the Cataclysm'?

Portal made by the Sargerite Keystone closed. Don't know why; it just did.
