Blizzard the past weeks has been something extraordinary.
API down for 2 weeks.
Shitloads of buggs.
FPS issues.
And now they delete all the chars.

Not sure how you can fuck so much up in so little time!

Can see how many chars i have on each realm but when i tune in to that realm there are no toons.

Honestly I'd welcome a clean slate for everyone. But can you imagine the legal battle that would ensue? All the paid character transfers, race changes, wow tokens purchased, etc. I think not just WoW would break under that stress, but Blizzard as a company would face pretty heavy strain as well.

I wouldn't, I had enough "no longer obtainable" stuff done on that account, that I would never turn back if they "Oops, deleted and we can't recover it" my account.

Hmm, I don't know. I was logged in and playing two hours ago as well and had no issues, logged out to eat dinner and when I came back my characters/servers were missing. It's still this way for me.

Oh yeah, I'm not saying it's not affecting a massive amount of people, it just seems to be inconsistent who and for how long.

For example, the thread on the official forums is now almost six hours old, but I've only been having the problem for and hour and a half. And some people are not having it at all, still. @Alayea said she can still log in okay, for example.

This seems to be a completely different issue from the preorder issue that people are having,

Yeah, I'm sure they're only tangentially related since different servers. It wouldn't surprise me if it was related to them trying to increase the character-per-server cap for the preorders or something like that.

But who knows.

Shit can happen when you launch things (such a increased amount of char slots) outside of a controlled little box.

from these server issues to not even being able to buy the preorder, things are a mess right now.
