I'm in the camp of hoping Zalandari don't get to be paladins so this was welcoming news to get my hopes up. I guess the trade off might be that Dark Iron don't get to be shaman but eh.

To me at least, the magnitude of the customization options are more important than the quantity of them. Highmountain might technically have less options but they are all pretty massive changes

no no no no, many times no, ion already talk about this, allied races will be anything they want, this idea of "subrace" and new races only based on already playable model is a thing the players invented and are spreading.

Until they show us that they can actual make an allied race that is nothing like the current ones (such as a Naga),
"Allied races are based on already existing player character-quality models and animations" stays.

That's how it'll be.

I’m curious just how much content is going to be available at alpha launch? I’m assuming just a limited amount so there’s concentrated testing. But how fast will the content come? This is probably going to be a relatively short alpha/beta. WoD and Legion’s precedence with the “release on or before” phrasing would say BFA releases end of August and that means pre-patch in July so alpha/beta testing will last about ~6 months?

Well compared to Legion, there will be nothing like 15-20 scenario areas used among 36 specs, tuning of 36 trait trees, class hall, quite large revamps and such.

Usually I pay super close attention to alphas looking for a release date. But since we already know it’ll be before sept 21st I care a bit less than normal.

I think we’ll have a similar launch to legion. 8.0, lordaeron and squish mid July. Xpac end of August early September.

If it’s earlier that’d be cool too. But no AAA companies release games or xpacs in the middle of summer.

Well according to some people here, it takes an afternoon to do that and a 1 more day for AI. /s

Hopefully for islands we get more in patches, since the individual islands seem to mostly reuse previous expac assets so they aren't not all the same.

Skin colors: 3
Faces: 6
Hair styles: 7
Hair colors: 6
Earrings: 6
Tattoos: 4

That might've been relating to only the 4 races we got. A bit unclear. Otherwise it would mean that ALL allied races ever would be like that.

Because with Ion in Charge they have launched a superb Expansion (the best expansion so far imho, and will launch a superb Expansion this year, im sure.
