Why? Those fire eyes and embers in beard are great. For me now i would pick Dark Iron dwarf anyday over normal dwarf.

Because the hairstyles look they were made by interns. Absolutely no creative, different hairstyles. Just worse looking ones than the dwarves.
I know they're basically dwarves, but I was hoping for a Zandalari-approach, with the Dark Iron being half iron/stone with cracks in them, a different - more buff - anatomy and epic fiery beards.

This looks like a student-project...

Alpha models do change though. Just look at the Vulpera or even the worgen.

Also.. the fact that we unlock Zandalari (who have a presence in BFA) later in the game and Dark Iron (who as of now, don't have much presence) as well, leaves me to think that they might change this to a different race...

I agreed - textures on hair and beard looks weird. But its probably will be changed. Aside from it damn - DID YOU SEEN THOSE FREAKING FIRE EYE AND EMBERS IN BEARD?

They won't change it, but I agree that it seems wierd.

Wait, they can become Paladins?!

There were Dark Iron type Paladin mobs in Blackrock Depths... I remember them mainly because of that one in the pack that would cast bubble
