No that isn't true and is complete nonsense, cops don't high five each other and congratulate one another on taking a life, no matter how much that person might have been seen to deserve it.

Mostly because in the head of the moment it can never be known what all the factors that went into a situation. Cops sure might congratulate one another for putting dangerous situation to an end without any other casualties or brothers in arms.

But this guy was an idiot, and I guarantee when cops end up being reported shot or killed, that will certainly influence the amount of compassion displayed towards them by others too.

I wasn’t referring to him cheering over taking a life. I was talking about being excited because of the adrenaline rush, which is completely normal. It can be addicting, especially if you’re in a job where it happens often (cops, paramedics, firefighters, etc). Again, I don’t agree with what happened, I’m just addressing why he likely said what he said.

Oddly enough, when you make war with people that shoot back at you, people tends to not eroticize that much violence. French and Brits who squeaked about how war was making you a real man used that line when it was time to shoot at natives, not when the Germans were moving them with machine guns.
