Which, conveniently, gets blamed on interns.
Aaahhhh, the great forum sources, years upon years of research done on porn and this guy had the answer all along: "healthy and normal to look at"

    Please hang yourself.

Yet again, years of research done on this and a random fellow on the internet had the answer all along.

And what good do British politicians think this law will do anyways? Improve general public decency? Higher church attendance? All this will do is make the people who consume online porn miserable (so virtually most of the country) and do nothing for those who don't. I know one thing for sure: If I had kids, them visiting porn sites would be the least of my worries.

This seems to be just another handle to pry into peoples private lives more.
We used to have a secret place with all our porn magazines or whatever. There is absolutely ZERO comparison to be made between then and now in regards to accessing pornographic material. So, if you're saying "it's OK it's always going to be the same", the answer is a mighty NO.

Least it will be interesting... Personally I doubt this restriction will work

This has already been in place for a while, examples as public service providers like shops, can't view porn in starbucks, haven't been able to for years, so nothing actually changes.
Are service providers in the habit of entering into a contract with minors?
Me thinks Chromie has a whole lot of splaining to do!

Very easy to prevent VPNs from being used on your computer. Just block the PPTP and L2TP ports at the router/Firewall level, then to keep them from connecting to the neighbors router, remove the WiFi card so they must be wired into yours

It is fundementaly pointless and another sign of just how out of touch those stuffy old people who sit in our government are from technology.

I knew how to use a proxy by about 12 and that was in 02. So i dread to think how clued in kids are now. So it won't stop what it's intended to and only make every one else's life more inconvenient and a little more risky by removing anonymity around a private thing.

I'm honestly so so so damn tired of the half thought out shit that comes out of the people who are supposed to be our best and brightest. Is it just me? I'm I not right to expect more intelligence both from our government and it's opposition?

I did wonder if this is what happens when all the smart people leave and all your left with to fill political party's is brown noesers, sheep and demagogues who don't really understand the ideology or history of what they put there banners behind

That's true too. Back then you might see a topless woman or a hairy bush in magazines (which were also a lot harder to get your hands on unless your Dad had a stash), and easy access to lengthy videos of some nasty hoe getting double fisted, or simulated rape movies. Totally different accessibility and content types

Blocking porn in the UK? Now would be a good time to invest in UK Proxy providers.

Kids under 18 can't buy porn videos from a porn shop. They can't go to peep shows. They can't buy porn mags at the corner convenience store (if mags are even a thing anymore). So why should they have ready access to porn online?

All this does is introduce an electronic version of a system that was in place for a long, long, long time in meatspace. Not seeing a problem.

I dident know who to vote for so I voted green because I like tree's. It really is a poor state of affairs when I disagreed with all the party's so much saving trees was the only factor that got my vote :/

You think most parents can set up effective blocking techniques and police their own network?

You have to be paranoid to think the government will outlaw porn in the UK especially considering how liberal we are with sex

Those systems don't need you to identify to government before every wank.

What do you mean. Can minors go and buy porn material anywhere in the real world in your country?

Why is it the government's business to regulate age of consent? Age to drink alcohol? To drive? To vote? To smoke?

Just because you personally feel attacked because "da gubment!" is involved doesn't automatically make it a bad idea, nor does it suddenly equate to your privacy or freedom being invaded. If you're over 18, the only thing that affects you is having to prove your age, same as anything else that's normally restricted to adults.
