I really don't want to open that can of worms, but the last time the US HAD to fight for their freedom was Pearl Harbour. They chose to fight for their values in the cold war (which is fine), everything afterwards was a choice based on less noble reasons.

From a musician's POV - Fergie is pretty limited in her vocal range and not really on par with say a Christina Aguilera, Kelly Clarkson - or Whitney Houston. That said, she has her own vocal styling which is how she sang the SSB. I am okay with that. I don't think it is 1/2 as bad as people are making it out to be.
