I would like to see more improvement though if it does indeed stick around. I greatly disliked having core story campaign quests involve "click this button and wait 3 days", that kind of shit is dumb. Being casual friendly doesn't mean punishing non-casuals with meaningless time-gates; (speaking as a casual myself).

I wouldn't mind seeing the mission table become more of a way to supplement rep grind, materials (like bloods and what not), toys, pets, etc. Along with some side story elements that focus on the followers/champions themselves. "Send a team to investigate X" onComplete: "Deathlord! We scouted the ruins but we were ambushed. Nazgrim stayed behind to cover our escape!" (trigger single player scenario quest to rescue Nazgrim with friendship reward with that follower) - Then have some neat transmogs available from the <whataver place> vendor that are themed around that follower or something that follower is affiliated with.
I mean the idea of rescuing someone captured on a mission was going to be in the Garrison and the Order Hall. It was scrapped both times. Closest we got was "oh hey my raid mission popped, time to send some followers out for 3 days to get an item that gives me a quest to LFR this boss so I can get my mythic loot."

Honestly, one neat fix to give missions more grounding in the world is take the whole "lets you automatically complete 1 world quest a day" talents several Orders had in Legion and expand it.

No more random missions against no-name enemies. You send your followers out to do World Quests. It'd take like 12 hours per quest, 24 if it's a rare quest maybe, but it'd feel more relevant than just sending them to investigate Krasus' Landing... again.

I don't mind it as an extra but every time they've implemented such things it's been required to use, and also time-gating certain things.

    Lovely, more free gold.

Exactly. Expanding on the story elements, but making it more engaging is what I'd like to see. Just without making it required for the "main" story so much. That way, people who don't necessarily care about the story (no clue why these people play games but different topic) could actually skip them. While those of us who *only* play for story/lore can spend our time building relationships with the followers we recruit and learning more about them.

One of the elements I actually missed from legion was the number of followers available. Not necessarily the number you could have active at a time, but how you could go out and interact with an NPC during a quest or event and then they'd want to join your garrison. I was sad to see the overall roster shrink so much in legion.

I also think these kinds of changes would be a pretty cool way of introducing more new characters with their own personalities, as well as a safe way. If people who are doing that content particularly like a character or group of characters, they would be perfect candidates to integrate more into the core story, while those with poor reception could just be allowed to fade away.

    They should never have been added in the first place;

I would have to agree with this sentiment, though I really wish they would go away and the rewards put into the WQs we do. It just "feels" better when I at least manually earn my rewards instead of having them handed to me like this.

Of course I'd kill for a full economy/currency reset, but sadly that ship put up sail, took its ball, and went home long, long ago.

They should remove completely and give less RNG rewards for people's efforts IMO

This. I love the mission system and I wouldn't be annoyed if they included it, but I also wouldn't be annoyed if they gave it a rest for a bit - I have a lot of alts that could otherwise be parked at rare spawn/dungeon/raid locations around the world to cut down on travel time if I didn't need to log them out in the same place every day for missions.

    So don't use them?

There is lots of content I want nothing to do with in WoW, so I just avoid it whenever I can. Seems like an easy solution.

I do avoid them as much as I can, as my post pretty clearly outlined. It's hard to avoid them when they integrate it into most content and make it's rewards so good that you are at a significant disadvantage by not using it. They tied story behind it all expansion, and power for half the expansion. The vast majority of gold income seems to be tied to it, and prices rose to match that, and they offer literally free mythic gear on it to try to make you use it.

It doesn't add anything to the game, and only exists to pump up log in numbers. People check their phone without thinking all day, seeing stuff like emissaries up and other crap on their phone will give them the urge to log in and play, and constantly keeping them connected makes them feel like they need to log in. Nothing about it is interesting or fun gameplay. If they removed it the game would lose nothing but a massive gold inflation problem.

It would be a lot harder to make gold without them. Keep em.

I don't mind them as long as they don't feel like something I need to tend to daily and have time gated content involved with them. Legion was amazing at launch for me aside from class quests that had me press 1 button to send off followers and wait days to complete it. That isn't content and that isn't fun. Other than that I thought it was fine.

Half of the responses are "yay free gold". You do realize that if everyone gets an x amount of gold no one gets richer right? It only devalues existing piles of gold. The mechanic would have as much of an impact in the game if it did not exist as it does when it does.

    edit: Waiting is not gameplay.

I make too much gold from them to be opposed to them.

Please god no. All you people in favor of mission tables... have you forgotten the class hall campaigns and other instances, where a quest is locked behind 3-5 missions lasting an hour+ for each one? I fucking hated it. I also hate having to run around my 110s doing chores when I log in before other things. Make it stop.

Personally its probably best to do other kinds of content in the new expansion than Mission Tables. After having mission tables for two expansions in a row I kind of feel that community is pretty much sick of them.

What do you guys think? Do you like mission tables or do you hate them with a burning passion and want something else to do in the game other than same old facebook content?www.wowhead.com/news=282154/exploring-the-royal-chambers-of-dazaralor-the-horde-hub-in-zuldazar#screenshots:282154:26
Don't worry "it won't be missions! They'll send US on missions" just like people kept saying in Legion alpha. That lie was a nice one.

While I'm not opposed to them, it was just silly how people insisted in the previous alpha that it wasn't missions like WoD when it was in fact.

    Why not use the app?

Yeah I'm not sure why people do that. The feature isn't a bad thing really, no need to hide what it is.

It sucks when I get a day off, and I am doing the class hall quests, and suddenly I reach a point where I cannot advance further until those are done. If it's late, then I am shit out of luck for the rest of the day and will have to continue another time. But moreso, the app didn't exist in the start of Legion. If it comes out at the start of BFA, maybe I can tolerate it, but my phone is slow.
