Isn't a large chunk of the speculation about this expansion Sylvanas' morals and whether or not she would burn down Teldrassil and/or commit war crimes in her quest for survival? Is it not valuable to discuss what resources each of these new allied races is bringing to their appropriate faction, given that we are already seeing evidence of Thalryssa assisting the Horde in BfA? Not sure why those wouldn't have a part in an expansion discussion.

Group indicates a small number. There were several dozens, if not hundreds of them, and they'd still have lost if it weren't for Nathanos running a diversion while the Horde champion places bombs around the ship.

It would probably have helped if they hadn't blindly attacked an entire fleet all on their own and brought a proper escort. The Skyfire was lost more due to the Alliance leaderships incompetence than Horde action.

The Horde also had Sylvanas's personal guard there.
The Alliance attacking then was suicide.

well. i am not agree that now aliance holding back. Just think - okay they level orgrimmar... Horde crippled and outraged. and then their shamans will trade their life (let's agree that shamanism is more Horde "thing")... and just "ask" (or even force) neptulon or other elemental lord level storm/ironforge/whatever in the revenge for their families. And horde still have sunwell. Okay it's totaly depend on what LTT think about this, but i am not sure if he will be totaly agree with this Aliance move (after he refused to even speak about it with Alleria).

edit: oh Steampunkette just said more possibilities for this. we now have elves who know how to work with leylines and have telemansy.

"The Vindicaar can destroy entire armies of demons!" Time-Magic Wielding Nightborne with super duper shielding magic that can stop the Legion, or the Sundering, or Deathwing from fucking with a city they're protecting.

Seriously, both sides have got bullshit strong weapons in the new forces they've pulled in. But the Nightborne outnumber the LFD 100 to 1 or more.

You wanna talk about "Instant Win" buttons? Oculeth opens a portal in the Stormwind Embassy with the other end INSIDE and HORIZONTALLY ORIENTED in the bottom of one of the massive Plague Tanks to dump it's entire contents onto the Alliance Leadership. Bam. War over.

Either side's "I Win" button either has counters, or represents an escalation of force that both sides would be DEVASTATED by. Keeping it close to conventional warfare (A War Machine instead of an Azerite Bomb, for example) keeps the arms race a little slower at the start. It makes perfect sense that neither side would just leap to the "Destroy them utterly" side of things. Hell, the Cold War was a thing for -decades-.
Oculeth is about to be what Caranthir was for the Wild Hunt. Aka the hardest carry ever known to man kind.

Though I'm unsure how fast anyone on Azeroth would be able to come up with a cannon to match those.
Xenedar had 'a thousand years' to send its followers out to destroy cannons and fortify the vessel.

Really, you're unsure? Had a good look at Azshara in the past 8 years?

But like someone else mentioned earlier in this thread, WoW doesn't take itself serious enough to put space ships and half naked city guards in a 'realistic' environment.

Nightborne have the largest and most extravagant city in all of WoW. The Army of the Light fits on one spaceship and lost many of their number when their only other spaceship in the fight on Argus went down.

Unless the Vindicaar has some Superman Civilization in a Bottle tech on it, they're smaller in number. By a lot.

Okay, so you made up that number with nothing to go off of, good to know.

    Also In game =/= lore

Yup! Absolutely nothing. Not like we can, y'know, look at the presented quantities of NPCs and make a rough estimate off what we see. Gotta wait for the next Azeroth Census to come out, for sure.

The nightborne had ten thousand years of peace and all the magical alcohol they'd ever need to fuel the resulting orgies.
I'd be surprised if they hadn't been fucking like rabbits the entire time.

The nightborne just came out of a civil war, making assumptions about race population is never good and almost always inaccurate and troublesome.

Seems like LF(Draenei) aren't as common as their regular bretheren at least based on how the starting area acts like. Sure it's the Army of Light but in comparison to the Nightborne. Well not so many. The trade off in theory could be the LF could be battle hardened and much more combat profeccient then the average Nightborne.
