I was unaware Amazon workers were forced to take their jobs. This is very disturbing that people in this country are being forced with no choice what so ever to work in a job they do not want. I mean to not even be able to quit and go find another job that pays better???? Gosh, we should get the federal government involved to put an end to this!!!!

On a serious note, no one is making them work there. Perhaps if they should go look for higher paying jobs. If they don't have the skill set to get a better paying job then perhaps they should invest in themselves and go back to school, be that traditional formal education like at a university or a trade program. To sit here and say it's Amazons fault is a fucking joke, no one is forcing them to work there and it is their own damn fault for not bettering their own lives. NO ONE is responsible for you other than yourself. Stop blaming others for your own failures.

And why the US will have growing income inequality. Letting companies avoid paying tax isn't good for society, or billionaires. By contributing to society they ensure that the society is more stable and it protects thier wealth. We shouldn't put up with companies that exploit the infrustructure and workers without paying thier dues.

Income inequality is never a problem.

Amazon already does pay their fair share. For the most part Amazon cares about low costs and market share. Until they switch to a profit maximizing model it doesn't make sense that they need to be taxed more.

I am sure people need some means to buy food, provide shelter, etc.....doesn't mean they have to work for Amazon, since you stated Amazon is exploiting their workers. I would think that if I was working for a company that was exploiting me I would go find another job. Though I suppose we should probably define what you mean by exploiting their workers as my definition would fall in place with third world nations exploiting children, or forcing their workers to work with pay below the required federal or state minimums; which I don't believe to be the case here, unless you have documentation showing differently???

Formost tech companies, the options to purchase a certain number of shares in the company is usually dole out in relatively equivalent portions over the first 4 years. I heard that Amazon does 5%, 15%, 40% and 40%. In other words, to take advantage of the compensation package they're offered when accepting a job at Amazon, employees must stay at the company for three full years or more. According to Times’ 2015 article, the median attrition rate for Amazon tech employees is around 12 - 18 months.

I was doing work at Amazon in VA, and what I was getting is they are given raises to a certain point and then are offered stock at that point. Whether there is upfront options as well I don't know. They did say it took a couple of years to get to that point, but these guys aren't "IT", more like maintenance/facilities/IT so they didn't hate their jobs as much.

Amazon didn't pay income tax in 2017 through some weird construction (within the US itself no less).
On top of that, they have the usual system of paying tax through Ireland and the Netherlands which all the large companies use, like Google and Apple.
And then, on top of that, they also profit from the recent tax breaks.

No wonder they can grow so fast! They can simply keep putting more and more money into rapid expansion and development.
Nowhere in the world would a business be able to grow so fast.

Construction would be considered a skilled work force and honestly, IDK where you're at but here in Washington State we have an enormous shortage. I could pick up another $12M over the next few weeks but there are no electricians. Projects are being postponed or sent back out for rebid due to complete lack of anyone bidding them due to already having to much work.
