I think it's a good base, but some armor of course needs to be added there.

This is for increased mobility.

Fun fact: properly fitted plate armor weighs less, provides better protection, and offers no less mobility than chainmail, because it is custom-forged for the wearer. Most people don't know this because all they know about armor is from D&D which got it wrong as fuck to start with and the misinformation has propagated ever since.

I mean sure, the jousting armor has no mobility and you nearly had to be lifted onto your horse with a pulley system but also think of what jousting was for: full-gallop getting stabbed in the chest with a wooden spear. Actual battle is nothing like jousting.
