The "rest of the World" has to decide between two countries: The United States, and China. (No, sorry, Russia is not in this equation, though it sure tries to be.) Now, the US might have its issues but it still has enormous economic power, military might and intelligence that acts as the backing force of many countries and close cultural ties with countries throughout the world.

China has economic power and exploitable human capitol. That's what it brings to the table. It's certainly no saint when it comes to human rights and personal freedoms, if that were a major consideration to be had in the equation. China isn't a country that promises security, autonomy or dependency to any outside company that functions there.
