If by just you mean about three years ago, then yeah they just got out a civil war. Alliance however lost their king, a huge number of troops, their most advanced airship, had Jaina fly the coop which had the side effect of Dalaran going back to neutral from on their ship. A lot has changed since the end of MoP.

Ok and we horde have lost:
3 Warchiefs (Thrall, Garrosh, Vol'jin)
in 3 years all alliance races have had their babies oh wait we got undeads that cant even reproduce (and only few valkyr to raise fallens?)
Horde lost many many good soldiers at SoO where ally almost lost nothing and had power to dismantle horde right there.
Horde lost as much forces as alliance did at broken shore.
Horde Main characters are not even close to alliance ones in terms of personal power.
Sylvanas - hopeless thrall - Saurfang - Baine - Gallywix VS Anduin - Genn - Tyrande - Malfurion - Muradin and his whole clans and shiet - Jaina and her family - Velen a god damn prophet - Gelbin Mekkatorque - Varessa - Turalyon
Cmon man make some sense just bc we play horde doesn't mean they are near to be equal to alliance in terms of power.

Sylvanas with blight, siege engines, and likely second largest army on Azeroth. Sadly gotta give you Thrall. Saurfang one of top warriors in the world and experienced general. Baine, physical powerful also experienced leather. Gallywix, clever manipulator with lots of technology and ability to hire mercenaries.

Anduin's still pretty young and inexperienced. Tyrande, besides her deus ex machina Elune powers, doesn't have many feats to her name. Genn is an admittedly powerful warrior with a debilitating fixation on revenge. Malfurion has always stayed neutral, he won't even help when gankers come to kill Tyrande when he's standing right here. Muradin and his frost dwarf clan haven't been seen with Wrath finished their story, no clue what he's doing. Jaina spoilers spoilers spoilers actually gets vanished from Kul Tiras by her mother after failing to convince her to join the Alliance. Velen also has no interest in HvA action. Gelbin has his inventions and not much else. I'm assuming you mean Vereesa, who also has done little. And Turalyon we don't know whether he'll get involved in HvA stuff either. He might pull a Khadgar and say "I have too many bonds and friends on both sides, I'm keeping out of this.
