Also agree on the 21 age restriction, no go unless you also raise a lot of things such as requirement to register for draft and shouldn't be legally held as an adult(but as a minor) if you aren't viewed as an adult.

No one should be able to purchase a firearm, either at a vendor or private sale, without having to go through a background check.

I would bet a lot of current NRA members, might not have joined as a lifetime member if they knew what the NRA would have become today. NRA only fights for the 2nd amendment right anymore, not for the individual(that is just a by product) but for the corporations that make money from the sales. If the rumors are true about them advocating violence in regards to the Florida shootings against the kids calling for gun reform, they are by definition 100% a terrorist organization and should be treated as such. Also, used to be a NRA member, with a long history of family members there were apart of the NRA BTW.
I read it. What I have down in my quote from you, is exactly what is in your post. What part of your post did I note quote?

You do not know how many are life time members. So you are just assuming. They still do and after Sandy Hook, they were gaining 8k new members every day for a while.
If the rumors were true, they would be a terror group. But rumors are like flies. :P Not saying I agree with them all the time, but overall, they offer a lot of services for gun owners.

You are free to feel otherwise, but I am also free to object if I disagree.

Want private background checks, how about give private citizens the option of using NICS if they choose. Currently only FFLs have access to the NICS system. Compelling all transfers to happen through an FFL is a low probability of satisfying constitutional scrutiny. Remember, firearms are their own liberty interest, but they are also property, in which we have a general liberty interest, including the ability to sell, trade, or dispose of it. Limiting that liberty has to have a better argument than "because guns".

I agree with that. There should be funding made available for a study. But I think the results of such a study, will be just about impossible to fix when the cause is deeply rooted into society as a whole.

    Both parties are guilty.

This is the same kind of garbage that people push about video games.

    GUNS ARE THE VARIABLE.
Maybe those other countries do have stronger family units. But like the mass school shooter in Fla, a history of family discord, was a factor. If you check out the past of most criminals, the pattern of broken homes and being abused at home, is a common denominator.

There are more guns in the United States than people. What's more, the means are readily available for people to make more for themselves with little more than a dremel tool if need be. Can't stop the signal. Stop trying to make policy around your unicorn chase and live in the world that is. In the world that is... every world that's ever been... people with evil in their hearts will find means to kill others, lots of others. Nothing stops them but opposing force. Nothing else ever has.

They also don't have readily available guns.
Well, the guns are not going anywhere or is the Second Amendment. So you deal with laws that have a realistic chance to pass or be effective. The root cause of crime needs to be addressed and stronger punishment for the offenders. Meanwhile, the law abiding citizens deserve the right to a tool to defend themselves with. The Constitution insures they do.

Different cultures is correct. Which involves several things.

However, once again, you are not being realistic for the US. Those countries do not have to deal with the same issues we do or to the same degree. Not to mention the same restrictions. Which the Constitution restricts how far the US government can go. Even with firearm restrictions.

Yes it can be amended. Go for it.

I agree some improvements to gun control are in order, such as strong enforcement of the laws we have and background check improvements. But I am sure we will always disagree how far to take gun control.
