2014 Gamergate: "If you want games without hyper sexualized female characters and representation, then learn to code!"
2023: "What's with all these massively successful games with ugly (realistic) women? How could this have happened?!"
John McCain had some choice words about this:
"An American president does not lead the Free World by congratulating dictators on winning sham elections. And by doing so with Vladimir Putin, President Trump insulted every Russian citizen who was denied the right to vote in a free and fair election."
And so did Ed Royce (R-CA), chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee:
"[Putin] does not deserve congratulations for his sham reelection. He made the outcome inevitable by silencing and disqualifying any credible opposition."

He also congratulated Erdogan and Xi Jinping on consolidating their power and eliminating the Democratic systems that kept them in check, so the alternative is that he just really likes fascist authoritarian leaders.
If he truly was so stupid AND guilty at the same time, he would've been caught long ago. Stupid he might be, but not guilty. Indeed, the very reason why some people still seem so convinced about his guilt is him not thinking when he speaks. There's, then, bound to be some stuff in the mix which the people with confirmation bias can pick out and interpret in a way that feeds their pre-existing convictions. Such as him congratulating Putin, for example.
Apparently his advisers even wrote: DO NOT CONGRATULATE for him on a note. Basically the president of the US is known by those around him to be incapable of doing the right thing unless specifically instructed, but clearly even that wasn't enough in this case. He's like one of those cartoons with an angel on one shoulder and a Russian dictator and criminal thug on the other and the angel loses out every time.
Nixxon was caught 4 years after he began the watergate wire tapping, and 2 years after the investigation into it started. High profile cases typically take a long time, and Nixxon's example isn't the only one. Trump keeps acting like a person, constantly trying to impede the investigation, rather than simply letting it run its course. If he believes himself innocent, he wouldn't be trying to stop the investigation non stop.
People don't always get caught soon after their crime, and your logic about everything has always been faulty. Sometimes guilty people act guilty, and congratulate another dictator on their win in an "election" that was a farce.

Of course, it is Trump's duty as governor of the largest Russian province to congratulate his president.

Name a single president that could say this:
He openly wouldn’t raise suspicion by insulting America... but, he did... when defending Putin. His support and GOP just don’t care... the Muller investigation on the other hand, has 3 guilty plea and 13 indictments."There are a lot of killers," Trump responded. "Got a lot of killers. What, do you think our country's so innocent?"

He has done everything from insulting America to not enforcing sanctions, in defending Putin. You can say he lacks common sense and I can point to his support not giving a shit. Trump and his shooting someone on the street comment, proves he knows he can say what ever he wants.

Washington Post reporting that Trump's own advisers told him not to congratulate Putin, going as far as to write it down in all caps as can be seen in the quote above. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a resignation or two over this, it's like why bother advising someone who will completely blow you off like that.President Trump did not follow specific warnings from his national security advisers when he congratulated Russian President Vladi*mir Putin Tuesday on his reelection, including a section in his briefing materials in all-capital letters stating “DO NOT CONGRATULATE,” according to officials familiar with the call.
