are they talking about asians in the sense of japanese and the others? or that dumb european sense of middle easterners?

The British never really did this anywhere they went, meaning they left these isolated white communities scattered across the globe, futilely trying to maintain exclusive control of vast swathes of land and resources in the face of overwhelming demographic and geopolitical pressure. A white dominated Australia would have been impossible to sustain even if the empire had managed to stay together, and it certainly won't happen now, or do these racist assholes really think that Americans or Brits are willing to give their lives to defend them?

but i would only say go back to your own country to people i knew were immigrants. otherwise, you're right, i would be stupid.

Why would you say that to anyone? You really think some Mexican kid is going to be like "oh shit, some racist douchebag told me to go back to my country so I better listen to him and GTFO before he comes at me, bro"?

How is it dumb? India for instance was ruled by Great Britain for many decades. Not sure exactly how long, but at least as long as the US has been around, I think. If you talk to an Englishman and they refer to an "Asian" they're talking about someone from the subcontinent of India or thereabouts. Not sure what they call East-Asians, I've been told "Oriental" is no longer politically correct.

Kinda like how in America many call Native Americans "Indians" because the name has stuck despite we all knowing it's not technically correct.

    FYI Middle Easterners ARE Asian.
The most difficult thing to do is accept that there is nothing wrong with things you don't like and accept that people can like things you don't.

Going around laughing at your own jokes that nobody else thinks is funny isn't really anything to be proud of, and every immigrant has already heard that line so many times so good luck trying to trigger anyone, most people will just feel sorry for you.

Asia is sort of an arbitrarily defined entity anyway, given that it has far more cultural diversity than the rest of the continents combined so lumping all of them together into one category is neither useful nor informative. Better to just refer to people by their actual place of origin, and if you don't know where they're from, pretty easy to just ask eh?

If Asians actually learnt the language and integrated better, there would be no need for these signs. Many older Asians come to Australia, live there for 20 years and can barely speak a word of English. They also apply for Centrelink while having cash-in-hand businesses where they don't declare or pay tax.

"Racist here, racist there, racist everywhere!" is a fine tune, but it never looks at the root of the grievances people have with the immigrants' behaviour.

Meanwhile in places like Japan similar ideas are allowed to be screamed with megaphones and are likely to reach more consensus within the population, but nobody bats an eye.
The sheltered middle-upper class professional lefties could benefit from a work experience in Japan or even China, though the latter would likely break them.

Its mainly aimed at the Chinese in Australia

Well minted Chinese have bought up heaps of property in Sydney & Melbourne .
This leaves a lot of Aussies out of the housing market as the prices increase big time.

Also, it was announced last week that the Chinese Communist party has been indoctrinating young Aussies at Chinese run School programs

    https://www.sbs.com.au/news/chinese-...paganda-claims

The objective of the Confucius Classroom is to spread a positive image of Communist Party rule in China.

And so anything that might be a negative to detract from Communist Party history in China is whited out, students don’t hear about it,” Professor Hamilton told SBS .

Australian racism against Asians is typically pointed at Chinese people, but let's be real the dumb fucks who still keep that prejudice alive don't know one Asian nationality from another.

Racism is really stupid, and it becomes really apparent once you start looking at another country's racism. Like, in the US there's a prejudice against people of Spanish heritage, that seems insane to me, meanwhile Americans would probably find Australia's traditional racism against Greek people bizarre. Racism is entirely idiomatic, if you're not brought up with it it's just crazy sounding.

It goes as far back as the gold rush, it's just your usual quasi-factual "terk er jerbs" scapegoating.

Our most famous racist politician is a fish and chip shop owner who refused to serve dim sims because of those damn Asians.

    Yeah, it's ridiculous.

Idiots are in every corner. Here in Canada Ontario, in Norfolk county (wayyyy deep in hick town, yea we got some of that up here too). I saw this white guy mistake an Aboriginal for South East Asian Indian, and told him to go back to his country his kind is not needed here.

This 100%. No sane educated human would ever sideline someone based on their color or where they were born
Blood Elves were based on a STRONG request from a poll of Asian players where many remarked on the Horde side that they and their girlfriends wanted a non-creepy femme race to play (Source)

what in the world do australians have against greeks?

i still think australians are the second best group of english people(next to americans), but this is pretty dumb. mediteraneans are the founders of modern civilization.

    Stupid, isn't it?

Also, the US had a serious prejudice against the Irish for quite a long time. There were riots and everything.

    Racism is dumb.

It would be unfair to judge potential immigrants as incompatible without giving them a chance. As such, those signs are prejudiced and potentially racist given the implication that foreigners won't be able to learn to speak the language to appropriate levels. This is not to say that they should be allowed to settle no questions asked, but at least every person deserves a fair chance with sufficient time and investment to develop. Investment in individuals could later pay off in skilled labour force or specialised goods.

yeah, i knew about the irish stuff, and there was a lot of anti-italian stuff.

some people are just stupid. at least with mexicans, i can see it being founded in seeing how horrible mexico is, the cartels basically being a second government. but even then i don't think that's a reason to judge on race, it's always dumb. individual merit will always be the only way to truly judge.
