Honestly I think it's mostly that people might want Sethrak or Vulpera and the chance that either might happen at a later point is tiny so they hope for bfa

At this point it still feels like Vulpera have a better chance. They've got more customization options and more assets for them in general. But still... dunno.

With all the talk about allied races, I do hope we get some actual new races ever again. Legit 1 - 20 starting zones, new skeletons, new mounts, that sorta thing.
I like allied races, but I assume they'll lose appeal extremely quickly.

It's probably related to mage tower, live was updated with 70mb patch that came to ptr last night as well.

Tbf, I don't get it why are people convinced we will get more than 4 ARs per faction in this expansion.

I think in this expansion we will see a total of 12 (so far, 8 have been revealed). A pair for each patch "step" (8.0.X, 8.1.X, 8.2.X, 8.3.x). It's one of the expansions' main features, after all.

After BfA, the system will probably either be scrapped or rarely used.

Looks like some parts of tonight's 8.0 patch accidently shipped with that 7.3.5 PTR push (this has happened before, not an indication of 8.0 on PTR tonight). There might or might not be diffs before the patch officially ships to beta (likely later tonight).

It is a lovely dream. I will say personally I'm starting to get a little fatigue with leveling characters. I still haven't gotten my Void Elf or Lightforged Draenei to max. Hell, I still have at least 6 characters outside of them that aren't 110.
