Those who played the good old Sega Shining series (Shining Force, Darkness, Holy Ark, etc etc) will know what I am talking about. Here the trailer:


The release date will be 10 July 2018 in all platforms I already pre purchased it yay !

Haha yup! I am glad they are finally localizing it....so glad the Shining series still alive.....now...if only....only...Phantasy Star.....series..make a comeback.

Indeed haha ! I am so happy and excited about this game. Always been fan of the Shining series. It was one of my favorite tactical JRPG ever during the Sega Genesis era.

I've never actually played them, but I like the character design enough to get it. Plus I need a tales of game till actual tales.

I agree they changed the style but at least it is not dead yet not like the Phantasy Star series and how they butchered it with the online games in the Dreamcast and the universe in PS2.

It's just turning into a Tales Of game, rather than being a true Shining game.

Yeah? what about both? dead and weeb shit as you describe it? which is exactly what happened to Phantasy Star series do you want that? at least as long as it is alive they will have the chance to fix it if it indeed sucks.


Also don't judge the entire game based on trailer. Don't jump to conclusion and give the game a chance at least.

Also this is not the first time they changed the style of the game in fact. Shining Force Neo which was released in the PS2 had a different gameplay than the classic original series. It became a hack and slash RPG but still was very good game overall. Another one released later on called Shining Force EXA but I didn't like it much though. My point is just because they changed the style of the game doesn't mean it will automatically be bad.

They could have worked on the graphics department a bit more, the look is a bit dated.

Well, didn't stop me from preordering it for my PS4 x). Really looking forward to be able to play the shining series on a new system!

Hehe yeah it is not like the old classic Shining series which was a tactical JRPG but still I am excited and looking forward for it ! and I am a fan of Tales series so I don't mind if it was similar to Tales.
