The political threads are where most decide who they would want to hang out with to begin with. I find the debates relaxing, otherwise I wouldn't come to a forum at all.

Not saying there isn't a place for a thread like this; if I didn't find it interesting I wouldn't have clicked it. But it is a circle jerk for cliques/tribes, and there is nothing wrong with that. Pretty common on every single forum on the internet.

There was another military guy who used to be pretty active on this forum. I think he either changed his name or left completely after some harassment. He seemed pretty level headed, even if I didn't agree with his politics 100%.
