Sony not playing nice with Fortnite accounts and crossplay

So you do get the issue then.

You were fully willing to throw Sony completely under the bus, downplaying Epic's failure here. You were also unwilling to accept that Microsoft kinda already burned the bridge on Sony. So in that case, all companies were crummy about it. There is no defense for any of them, they're all at fault.
Yet when this was pointed out, you go full "nope, only Sony, blame Sony!".

Then, when the situation was reversed, and it's a situation of Microsoft hindering crossplay through an action, yet again, you're suddenly like "Well, maybe it's a bit of everyone's fault".

That's the issue I'm having here. It was everyone's fault from the start, and that's what I said but you took such offense to that.

It's like trying to discuss a law while ignoring the origins of the law. You can't really, and how the law was formed is very relevant.

In this case, while it started about specifically Epic/Sony, it's not off topic to bring in other companies doing similar, and the behavior of the gaming field in general.

No in this case its talking about apples and comparing them to a orange. There is a vast difference in Cross-Play and Cross-Progression via sharing accounts. They could allow the Cross-Progression but that doesn't mean it would enable Cross-Play.

The topic just branched off into that because a few select posters wanted another reason to bitch about Cross-Play.

My first post was saying no one is defending Sony.

It's not a matter of "defending Sony".

It's a matter of "Microsoft did do it when it was convenient for them too".
You can't expect Sony to be the "bigger company" here. And it's not like Sony isn't doing cross play at all, they still are with the PC.

I mean, I've been following the whole thread, I don't see anyone arguing that Sony is doing a great thing here, just that it isn't surprising. Yet for some reason people against it keep claiming Sony is "being defended".

You're the one who took that as a defense. For some...strange reason.

And now you are literally saying the same exact thing in regards to Microsoft and Minecraft. That's WHY I brought up the Minecraft thing specifically. It's a recent case of Microsoft not playing ball, yet you want to deflect it back to Sony being the problem. Then when called out on it, you say "But I'm not defending them!"

My impression is as long as it's not in some way Nintendo's, they're pretty lenient. Like, do whatever you want with your own games, just don't touch their precious Mario.
