    Banjo-Kazooie is 20 Years Old

At least for America it was the 29th June, It wont be 20 years old for the UK until the 17th July so its good to post this in between those dates.

Just to hammer that nail in to those of us that don't want to feel like they have aged that much since then. For me add 15 years and you have my current age :P

Banjo-Kazooie came out on the N64 in 1998 and is probably one of my favourite games of all time, at least in my Top 10 for sure. It was probably one of the first soundtracks I actually loved from a video game too. The level designs the crazy characters that wacky sense of humor and that it really got me into Rare games, as I never had a SNES to play their games back then. I was in the Genesis (Mega Drive) camp back then.

I know there are a lot of people that grew up with Banjo-Kazooie and wonder if any of you remember it fondly or has it aged badly, what are some of your favourites levels of worst levels and so forth?

It was a childhood game for me too , loved it with all my heart . It is really fun and (long ? been a lot of time since I last played it ) loved the transformations Mumbo jumbo would gift you to access new places inside the levels , it had variety of the scenary and oh boy the furnace fun level was great .
Indeed one of the games i cherish the most .
I'd love to play it again now that I understand a bit of english , little Italian me didn't have the luxury of understanding N64 games as they never had my language (of the ones i own only mission impossible was translated) .

Is it bad that I never played Banjo-Tooie?

Being just 24 years old, these games are a bit before my time. Grew up with the original Playstation as my first console, so naturally games like Croc, Crash and especially Spyro hold greatly nostalgia for me instead.

Been enjoying the N' Sane trilogy that recently released on PC and I imagine I'd enjoy a Banjo-Kazooie re-release as well given that I've enjoyed games like A Hat in Time and looking forward to playing Yooka-Laylee when I get a little more time on my hands

I played this and Tooie probably more than any other game ever.
I revisit them (but don't always beat them) every year. I can't remember a year I haven't played them.

Between Grant Kirkhope's iconic tunes and the hilarious cast of characters, there's no reason you shouldn't play it every year.
    The game is timeless.

I was almost 12 years old when this game came out. I loved both games, raged often at the stupid shark in Treasure Trove Cove and the oil laden water in Rusty Bucket Bay, as well as beating the stupid crocodile the second time.

Tooie was great, just...avoid Nuts and Bolts and the dumpster fire that it is.

It's kind of crazy to think it's been 20 years already, feels like just the other day I picked it up and played it for the first time..damn

Nuts and Bolts is fine if you ignore that it's a Banjo Kazooie game.

Just finished it. It was cool, but short, and lacked the polish that Banjo-Kazooie had. But still fun!

On launch it was terrible until a few months later. I got it before that patch that cleaned up some issues

The controls were atrocious, some segments were basically undoable. Particularly the mine cart

also fuck the casino level.... how can they fuck up a casino level. Oh and that boss u fight as a ship..... ugh. I hope that was fixed in the patch as the hit boxes were very incorrect.

I was one of the few people who enjoyed Yooka-Laylee, wasnt a great game, but I got my fun out of it. Hopefully the devs learn from it and improve in the next game.
