I'm always looking for new bands. Anyone know of any Symphonic Black Metal bands that sound like Carach Angren, Dragonlord, or even Dimmu Borgir that don't sound like lo-fi shit that I should know about?

It's hard to say as you seem to be looking for a very specific sound as all those three bands have a very similar sound but you might like these albums (the first two are from this year):

    Some old ones I like:

Summoning is the obvious recommendation. Also do check out Diabolical Masquerade, Aquilus, Shade Empire and Mirrorthrone.

I actually forgot about Shade Empire, mostly because I really dislike their newest album but it's a great recommendation. I say this cause I'm actually shamed to admit I forgot them while wearing a Shade Empire shirt.

Been listening more to that Gatekeeper album and it has really grown on me. Blade of Cimmeria in particular is awesome and reminds me a lot of the very first Helloween when Kai Hansen was still on vocals.

Ya this month is nuts, yesterday alone like 5 albums I was interested in dropped.

Saw Volahn last week, seeing Melvins tonight and should be a good time.

This is pretty shilly but what the hell I've been here for years so I've earned it, I used to be on a metal Podcast for a while and recently most of us from that show split off to make a new one that is a little more broad in the genres we cover and a little more free to be funny. Our new show is here, looking to eventually build back up to guests like we had on our old show. Easy guarantee that every show I will probably be talking about black metal so there will never not be metal content.

It was the product of a lot of debate lol, I was leaning towards Left Hand Cast but that is apparently already in use by a show.

Mark Shelton of Manilla Road has passed away. Fucking sucks. Love the band

NP: Manilla Road - Flaming Metal Systems

Definitely one of my favorite 'bonus tracks' of all time.

I have to admit, I also think the album as a whole is a bit meh, but several of the tracks are great.

Thankfully the gofundme pretty much reached its goal in 12 hours or so.
