Imperius seems to be the safer play.

Valerian Mengsk is a C tier concept with no real gameplay behind him... What would he be, a Support hero? Specialist? Assassin? Not saying it couldnt be him, but I dont see a concept that would work right now

Literally nobody saw Stukov as a support, since his SC2 abilities were all highly offensive.
99% of Deckard Cain concepts had him as a non-combatant, since people couldn't see him in the thick of a fight
And let's be real, who saw Probius coming?

Those surprises were most often the worst heroes implemented though :P I hope they focus to get roles covered and balanced instead of surprising us. Currently, I think we need another hard tank and supports reworked/tuned. I mean they were awesome with Yrel: Buffing her into madness till all solo laners said "no way to counter her". Then out of his grave came Leoric who was also awesome against the current caster meta.

I'm so hoping its Arcturus and not Valerian. Both because Arcturus is far cooler of a character, and more iconic, as well as the fact that Valerian is literally just space Anduin, same hair, same personality, same voice actor. One really can't come alongside the other, and Anduin deserves the spot much more.

First two were fairly predictable. Even Carbot made videos for Stukov and Deckard. The consensus was more towards a Specialist Stukov, but at least there was definitely potential in him being a hero, especially since he had such an active role in the Heart of the Swarm campaign.

Deckard has a long list of concepts and was gonna be the old man support from the get-go. He's been wanted by players for so long that theorycrafts for him have existed for a long while.

Probius was an outlier, I'll give you that.

As for Valerian, I've still not seen a good concept for him that works. Some say he's a fencer. Others say he should be a Terran Abathur. I don't see either working very well to be honest, and him being in a combat role would mean either they go out of their way to take him out of character. He's not a frontline fighter, not a gunner, and definitely not a gadgets/spellcaster type. He's a commander, but not necessarily known for his military prowess either... He's an artifact hunter with a rich daddy. I don't see what kind of concept that yields for the current meta, which is based very heavily on normalizing roles and archetypes and focuses way less on the abstract playstyle that we've had in the past.

A Mengsk is highly likely.

Which one is harder to discern.

While I'd love for it to be a Mogu (Lei Shen) it neither looks Mogu or has any of Lei Shen's elements.

Doesn't really look angelic either, a bit too "modern" in design.

I feel like Arcturus is gonna be more likely, concidering Valerian is basicly just space Anduin and it seems unlikely that we wouldn't see Anduin at some point.

Was my first thought too, got hyped for Lei Shen or something. But I went and checked various doodads and I don't think it matches

The handles suggests humanoid, it doesn't scream Diablo to me, so I'd have to say Starcraft universe. The colours seem dominion, so I think Arcturus Mengsk is a good shout. He's been requested quite a lot in the past too.

commanders like them could be anything. I mean Raynor is a freaking weakest unit in starcraft (other than builders) but he's still seen as a hero,

could be a Abathur commander (i dream one day of them making an abathur commander that doesnt have to rely on symbiote), a character like genn greymane/or the brood mother where their abilities summon units.

his son is barely in the game and only came to power in the expansions that dont feature the terran and the father would definately have the xelnaga artifact as one of his heroics

i did come here hoping ppl might actually know what its from, the fact that no one has makes me wonder if this is a Genji/Dva situation.
